Happy Instructional Coach Appreciation Day to our amazing Ms. Franco! 💛
Elsa, you are truly a rare gem. The love you have for our Douglass Dragons, the support you give our teachers, and the way you show up every day for our entire team do not go unnoticed.
I am incredibly grateful for your heart, your knowledge, your commitment, and most of all, for YOU. Douglass is better because you are here, and we are so lucky to have you. 🐉❤️
Today we celebrate you and remind you just how valued and appreciated you truly are! 💐✨
This feels more like you—warm, proud, and personal without being too long for Facebook.
Happy National Coaches Day to BOTH of THE BEST! 🏆❤️ Simply the BEST! Always showing up, always giving their all, and ALWAYS focused on KIDS FIRST! We are so lucky to have you both! 💪🏼🐉❤️#itstartswithus

Weekend coffee and weekday coffee are two completely different experiences. ☕
On Saturday, you've got time to sit down, enjoy that first sip, and maybe even finish the whole cup while it's still hot.
Monday morning? You're just trying to get enough caffeine in your system to remember your password, find your keys, and make it through the first hour of the day.
Same coffee. Very different job.

When a student is still confused after your first explanation, repeating the same words more slowly isn't always going to help.
Ask them to show you where they got stuck. Maybe they missed a vocabulary word, need to see one step modeled, or are approaching the problem in a way you hadn't considered.
That information tells you what to teach next.
Sometimes a different example is all it takes. Other times, the student needs more practice, a smaller entry point, or another opportunity to work through the concept.
The goal doesn't have to change just because the first approach didn't work.
Our Dragon family is growing! 🐉💚 Please join us in warmly welcoming our new counselor, Mrs. Baimbridge. We are so happy to have her at Douglass and can’t wait for our students, families, and community to meet her!

A report card can tell you what a student produced at a particular point in time. It usually cannot show the distance between the first attempt and the last.
A student may still have the same letter grade and be asking better questions, recovering faster after mistakes, working more independently, or finally staying with a problem instead of shutting down. Those changes are easy to miss when the final number gets all the attention.
Grades have a job. Teachers still need to notice the growth that never makes it into the column.
