Given all the SpaceX/Ukraine news, I’m reminded: at one point Golden Dome (the US missile defense shield) was once pitched as a “Service”

A new photo shows the six F-35A jets built for Turkey sitting in hangars at Edwards AFB, where they have been stored since late 2019. Ankara was cut from the program over the S-400 purchase after paying around $1.4B toward 100 aircraft.
Senators on the Armed Services committee have #bipartisan moment on time. #sasc
Senator Cotton is right. Permanent Daylight Savings has been tried and Americans didn’t like it. The better way is permanent Standard Time because it’s based on science. No dark mornings, it keeps our time in sync with the Sun, and no more changing the clocks. Arizona has been on Standard Time year round since 1968 without issue.

It just dawned on me that Hegseth is describing the mission of the Office of Net Assessment, which he effectively killed last year.
.@SECWAR “Project Meridian—the future of warfare—is not about developing new strategies or policies.
Rather, its purpose is to creatively look into the future and identify the domains we must conquer—and capabilities we must master... to achieve technological and military dominance on the battlefield for decades to come.”

.@AnthropicAI is going to change the world, its IPO prospectus says … it also recorded a net loss of $42 billion last year … I can’t recall a startup that ever saw such staggering losses:

A site called Military Sentinel is taking our original work and slapping a shameless rewrite of our stories with no credit (Like changing two words in the HED). Same photo. When I called the number listed to complain, it connected me to a women's health clinic in Alaska.
Same #base was getting harassed by drones back in 2024. It was assumed it was a grey zone tactic by Russia for the US’s #Ukraine war involvement.

This is why news is expensive. Time has a cost.
This is fantastic. Lotta reasons the bathroom is an excellent stakeout spot, but my own anecdote:
During the 2013 shutdown, I waited outside the speaker’s lobby bathroom for at least 20 mins for Rep. Jon Runyan — a 6’7”, former NFL lineman.
When he emerged, realizing I had just waited for him outside the bathroom the entire time, there was a quiet acknowledgement of ‘alright, yeah, I should probably answer your questions before you tweet that I just took a shit for a half-hour.’

"Nothing in the record ... suggests that the revocation of Plaintiffs’ hard passes was motivated by national security concerns. Certainly, that is not what President Trump said when he announced that he was 'banning' Plaintiffs from the White House." tmsnrt.rs/4ymOB1d
Today’s action revoking access for journalists from CNN, POLITICO, and MSNOW violates the First Amendment. The implications extend beyond these organizations: a standard used to exclude one news outlet because of its coverage could be applied to any outlet in the future. The American people, through a free and independent press, must be able to scrutinize those elected to power, regardless of whether government officials view it favorably. That’s why courts have repeatedly held that once the White House provides access to journalists, it cannot deny that access arbitrarily or based on the content of their reporting. The WHCA calls on the administration to immediately restore our colleagues' access.
- Jacqui Heinrich, WHCA President
