PHP2Shell update before the 10 AM ET patch: @Cloudflare CTO @dok2001 says they're already seeing early attacks against the two leaked PHP RCE bugs (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619). WAF rules are live for all plans, including free, but he calls it a stopgap. If you run PHP on anything internet facing: Patch the moment @ThePHPF ships at 14:00 UTC. If you can't patch today, take it offline or put it behind a WAF. Make sure your origin isn't reachable directly, or the WAF does nothing. After patching, look for web shells, new admin users and modified PHP files. The servers you know about will get patched today. The harder part is where else PHP hides: routers, NAS boxes, firewalls, control panels and vendor appliances. Many of those only get fixed when the vendor ships firmware, and some never will. Find them, and if they face the internet, cut them off until there's a fix.

Bringing the fight to the adversary! @Crowdstrike teamed up with @FBI to disrupt laptop farms operating across the U.S. maintained by DPRK-nexus adversary FAMOUS CHOLLIMA to fraudulently employ operatives at American companies while concealing their true location and identity. These laptop farms enabled FAMOUS CHOLLIMA operatives to pose as legitimate remote workers and siphon illicit wages back to their regime while maintaining persistent access to victim organizations. Incredible what can happen when Industry and Government work together! crowdstrike.com/en-us/blog/f…

This would be an excellent subject for a @CYBERWARCON talk by the way. Last day to submit!
This is one of the most underrated threats in cyber right now and it’s being done all over Europe and the Middle East. This targeting enables lethal follow-on activity and it’s especially alarming as missiles fall and gig economy terrorists are being used so heavily.

This was a lot of work to get here. Special shoutout to @HackingLZ for doing the brunt of the work (it wasn't easy) and for the amazing folks at @OpenAI - they are awesome to work with. Huge moment for us to continue to expand our capabilities, and this new field that is being formed and rapidly moving ever single day. #TrustedSec
TrustedSec has joined the @OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network! Planned use of #Daybreak Blue and Red will integrate OpenAI GPT cyber models into our offensive and defensive security services, pairing it with the experience and judgment of our consultants. Announcement below 👇

Quick tweet. Cybersecurity on the offense side, even with what Anthropic released today will be still a heavily restricted models and never the best. For offense, your only choice is open weight models. I would not rely on frontier models for offensive research. Invest in hardware or solutions that allow you to use hardware infrastructure as a service. It will pay dividends. In stating that, if you can get access to special programs as an organization/company - this is also an incredible option if approved through.

Matt is the nerd we all need in our lives...
I bought an industrial radio controller made in China that transmits on unauthorized frequencies in the US. As it turns out, there are many of these knock off units being sold on ebay, Alibaba, etc. In order to safely test the units, I used an RF enclosure to be sure that these unauthorized signals were not transmitted outside of my lab environment. Using a USRP Software Defined Radio (SDR) I was able to observe that these radios transmit reserved for cell service and commercial aviation air-ground systems. Additionally, I was able to perform a simple replay attack on the controller signals to successfully actuate the receiver.

For the last year, random phishing emails have been landing in my Gmail inbox, cycling through IP address encoding tricks like hXXp://secure.bank.com@[::ffff:c0a8:164]/ That sent me down a rabbit hole and led to this: github.com/HackingLZ/ip-obfu… Now they’ve just switched to boring S3 buckets :(

I'm seeing a lot on anti-AI folks coming out that we should not "allow" AI into cybersecurity. We aren't the gatekeepers. Businesses, boards, CEO's - it's their businesses not ours - we need to figure out a way to get our hands around it to try and to it in a way that helps organizations not shoot themselves in the foot while doing it. We need to be leading the charge on AI research, safety, governance, adoption, and more. You can be Anti-AI and hate the system, but the system isn't decided by us - we go where the system goes, even if we disagree or agree with it. It's irrelevant.

I just wanted to do a special shoutout to @P1nkN1ghtmare @EggDropX and all of the amazing folks that put on @GrrCON and its volunteers, staff, and sponsors. One of my favorite cons of all times, superb every year - so many great friends there and super well run. Appreciate all the time, effort, and work that goes into making that place magical. Know the level of effort and attention to detail it takes. Had a blast speaking again this year, so many great talks, good people - and many memories forged. Thank you all!

I read @DarioAmodei's essay calling on the labs to pace the frontier. @sama agreed. The frontier will move at whatever speed it moves. The rest of the world will not slow down. Our job in the cybersecurity community is to make sure it moves securely and safely. Here’s what I see from the front lines: 1. The unit of threat is no longer the hacker. It's an autonomous campaign. I call it the Agent-state. We see coordinated AI agents executing attack campaigns at machine speed. 2. Sophistication is dead as an attribution signal. AI gives every criminal and lone actor elite execution. Identity, infrastructure, and intent tell you who's behind an attack. Skill doesn't. 3. Runtime is the control point. Endpoints, cloud workloads, and SaaS are the battleground. Governance documents don't stop an agent in motion. Enforcement at machine speed does. 4. Every AI agent is a privileged identity. Least privilege, short-lived credentials, traceable actions, and a kill switch. Permissions never expand because an agent decides it needs more. 5. Defense has to be autonomous but also bounded. Machine-speed response, tiered by consequence, with humans owning the high-impact calls. 6. Every failed attack should make every defender smarter. Feed what we block back into detection, across customers and models, with privacy intact. This is what CrowdStrike and NVIDIA introduced with SafeMind: an agentic, always improving model and harness protection system built for defenders. 7. The AI industrial base is critical infrastructure: weights, training clusters, APIs. Call it what it is and protect it like it is. Pacing what comes next doesn't secure what's already here. The credible path is to deploy with proof: board-level accountability for AI security, independent external red teaming, incident disclosure, secure defaults, and controls that work in production - not on paper. Anthropic and OpenAI just committed to embedding independent evaluators with employee-level access. CrowdStrike will bring what we see from the front lines to that table. The ability for AI to act must be matched by the ability for defensive AI to stop the breach.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so. Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training. You can read the full post here: darioamodei.com/post/we-must…

Please share this live hacking video with your loved ones so they can see just how easy it is to fake caller ID (and even clone a voice) to demand money or data over a scam phone call. I’m hoping this demo helps even 1 person shut down a hacking attempt.
