I’ve seen some comments about being disappointed that the Cats are not in the Big Noon Kickoff slot. A 630pm CT start is better for having more fans at this game for a huge homefield advantage.

One hundred years to the day after the original Ryan Field opened its gates, a new chapter in Northwestern history begins.
After more than two years in the making, @NewRyanField opens tonight, as the Wildcats take on Penn State under the lights in Evanston.
What an incredible moment for @NUFBFamily , @NorthwesternU, the Evanston community, and every Wildcat who has ever called this place home. Tonight, the eyes of the college football world will be on 1501 Central Street as one of the finest venues in the sport comes to life.
And none of this happens without the extraordinary generosity and vision of Pat Ryan Sr. and the Ryan family. It is difficult to put into words the gratitude they deserve for making this dream a reality and creating something that will impact Northwestern for generations to come.
A century of history behind us.
