Is Bandai really trying to kill Gundam?
@GUNDAM_GCG_ENG @GUNDAM_GCG_JP
Seriously, I was so excited after fighting my way to get my 1st invite for nats and hoping to get an Amuro just by attending. However, I really lost my excitement after seeing the update on the participation prizing. We are getting leftovers promos that I got majority of them over months ago.
Letβs be honest, the trip only makes sense if the prizing is worth equal or higher than my expenses like flight and hotel. In this case, 3/4 of the attendees will lose money attending the nats if we are counting about 500 players just for Gundam. Iβm not saying that I gonna sell the prizing but at least grade it or keep it as a souvenir.
Please learn from Riot. Sincerely,
After speaking with others, almost every competitive player I know who enjoys gundam is considering dropping the game due to how insulting this participation/prizing change is.
We're already getting shafted on both tournament times, and format (our events really need to be B03)+
I am extremely disappointed with Bandai and we as a community should not be happy with this announcement.
Yes it's brilliant that NA are getting top cut but B03 sideboard as a top cut only format does absolutely nothing to improve the gameplay experience for the majority of players in the room. The game is not made better by this half-measure. I could have accepted this for regionals while the format was trialed but this now marks the second year in the row where the Japanese players are treated with a level of respect not afforded to us Western players. Not only will the Japanese players have a finals entirely in the B03 sideboard format, but they will also have it in the format much closer to the one that worlds will be played in.
That's not even discussing the prizing structure which is just an absolute joke. I was ready to fly out to the US to try and participate in their finals, I'm not very unsure about whether that's worth my time. Do Bandai actually care about the western playerbase? It doesn't feel like it. I'm genuinely questioning whether I will continue to play gundam into 2027.
I think more people (especially those with invites, or plan to attend the LCQ) should make sure their voices heard this year.
These prizing and format changes are horrendous as b03 with side being a nats top cut only thing is awful when other bandai games already have b03

Gundam is a game I truly love and invest time into.
I was really excited getting into it because bandai owns the IP and I felt would take a level of care in supporting it beyond its other games.
Getting leftover promos for nats is really killing my drive for this game.

Not only speaking for myself but even just for the people in cities outside of Manila, cancelling an event that can be ran on another pairing system two days before the event is diabolical.
Players spend money for flights and accommodation to attend events that have been scheduled well in advance, and for it to cancel on the day that they are supposed to board a plane is a terrible way to go about handling your regional level tournament.
Why is it that Grand Prix 2026 Autumn Chiba for Shadowverse: Evolve, a significantly bigger event, is still being held and a 70 player capped tournament canβt be handled the same way? xitter.cf/shadowverse_ev/status/β¦
This is 2026 where there are ways to handle a pairing system then later report it to Bushiroad via Bushi Navi once it gets patched due to the PHP Cyber Vulnerability. Another pairing system, use AI to seed your event, and even in the worst case scenario, manually pair the event.
How is it that a company like Bushiroad is incompetent of organizing a backup plan if in the event of a disaster to the pairing system, there is an alternate way to hold the tournament? The only thing affected here is the tournament pairing system and there are systems out there that do not run on PHP or on any infrastructure that isnβt affected by the vulnerability.
Not to mention, people who have never been to the hosting store before, and with a big event where they are front facing as the organizer gets cancelled, that is reputation damage to the store.
There absolutely should be some sort of compensation to the players for this event and whilst this is a global cyber issue, an adjustment in how the tournament pairing is conducted can solve this issue.
If you as a company do not have backup plans, or have trust in your tournament organizers to fulfil the integrity of your event, why even bother playing Bushiroad games?
A subpar BCS 26/27 announcement with less than the bare minimum of event details for players to make decisions, and a cancellation of an event two days before the appointed time which causes remote players to drop their arrangements from work and personal commitments, why even bother?

Ah the first False Fall of the year. Southerners gleefully donning cardigans and light jackets as we rush out to greet the autumn morning with a gleam in our eyes. βI can almost see my breath!β I say, blowing into my cupped hands. Knowing in my heart it will be 87 on Thanksgiving

The Office of Congresswoman Omar released the following statement:
βThis raid by Trumpβs DHS is an outrageous abuse of power and an unprecedented escalation in the weaponization of federal law enforcement to target political enemies. For a decade, Donald Trump has relentlessly targeted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar with inflammatory rhetoric, repeatedly putting a target on her back. Now, those attacks have escalated to a pointless federal raid. The Congresswoman has done nothing wrong. No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.β

Bandai be like: What if we made under 150 Store Champs, and made it a lottery system.
Me:
Gundam Card Game Season 2 store championship signups are live
Texas has 8 total (six 64-person, two 32-person), players are either time-limited or number-capped in how many events they can sign up for
Still a lottery system
How did this get even worse from S1 to S2 π
