AI-generated characters, bizarre body proportions, grotesque situations, and storylines that can hardly be called "normal." You could call it "cringe." You could laugh at the quality of the humor. Or, you could ask a much more interesting question: If content this bizarre can rack up tens of millions of views, who is actually underestimating this market—the creators or the marketers? We tend to think that capturing attention requires quality, aesthetics, professional production, and a carefully crafted brand. But this case reveals another side of the "attention economy": sometimes, all it takes is an unusual image, a relatable emotion, and a narrative hook that makes you stop scrolling for a few seconds. There are three interesting points here. First: Absurdity can be a competitive advantage. In a feed where everyone is trying to look professional, a bizarre character can sometimes grab more attention than yet another perfectly edited promotional video. And it’s not because weird always wins. This is because the unusual can create an information gap ,viewers see something unexpected and want to understand what is happening.
