Flying a drone looks simple. Making it reliable takes countless engineering hours, late nights, and frustrating crashes. But when you see it all come together, it's incredible. That's what keeps me going. And that’s what we’re building at @RowndAI 🚁

This is the future of warfare. Today, Rownd is officially launching its autonomous drones out of stealth. We build economical, attritable drones to defend the United States against foreign threats. We've secured a $10 million contract with the @DeptofWar, as well as contracts with @AFSpecOpsCmd, @USSOCOM, and @usairforce BESPIN to out-iterate our enemies.

A phenomenal end to our exercise in Alabama. On Thursday, the Rownd team successfully completed 21 flights at Maxwell Air Force Base. That includes 4 mobile launches and 4 fleet tests. It also marked the first time Rownd flew a drone swarm.

The more you fly and experiment, the better you get.
Another great day of flights in the books. On Wednesday, the Rownd team successfully completed 7 flights at Maxwell Air Force Base. This was also the first time that members of the @usairforce BESPIN team got to fly our drones.

I often get so caught up in the analysis and technology behind our drones. Sometimes, you just have to fly. 13 flights later, and we’re off to a great start in Alabama.
Our first full day of flights in Montgomery, Alabama ✅ On Tuesday, the Rownd team successfully completed 13 flights on Maxwell Air Force Base, joined by BESPIN personnel.

It's nights like these that make the engineering process worth it when the drone gets in the air. More to come!
Night one of Rownd's week-long exercise in Montgomery, Alabama. Quick test flight followed by some late-night troubleshooting.

The need for attritable and autonomous mass has never been greater. Wonderful conversations in our nation’s capital at @ycombinator’s The Startup Industrial Base: Building for the Next 250.

Prep work is essential before any flight. A quick look at one of our engineers calibrating the drone's compass. Rotating the aircraft helps correct directional errors so it knows which way to fly.

Autonomy is one of those buzzwords in the defense tech space right now. What people often don't realize about autonomy is all the engineering work that goes into that word behind the scenes. That's what gets me up in the morning.

“Simple to assemble” is a lot of engineering work hiding in three words. That’s what we’re working toward: capable autonomy on affordable hardware that’s straightforward to build and replace.
Fast to make. Simple to assemble. Ready to replace. Rownd builds economical, AI-powered autonomous drones to defend America against its foreign enemies.

Every hardware project: "just hook up the camera." 14 hours later, you're three forks deep in libcamera source questioning your life choices. The rabbit hole has a rabbit hole.

Half the edge-AI conversation in 2026 is just "have you considered putting a stack of Mac minis in a closet?"

"Developer-first" used to mean good docs. Now it means a sticker pack and a Discord.

Every B2B SaaS homepage in 2026: "AI-native platform for [industry] teams to unlock [vague outcome]." Cool. What does it do.

SOC 2 is a 400-page document explaining why engineers can't access production, written by engineers who can access production.

"We take developer experience seriously" is the new "your call is important to us."

Every roadmap is a work of fiction. The only difference is how confidently you present it to the board.
