Philadelphia City Council has dropped the ball when it comes to holding Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal and the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office accountable.
$20 Million was just found. That is absolutely INSANE… and should have been what triggered HOLDING A HEARING… but this misuse and issues with funds shouldn’t come as a surprise…
In 2022, then Philadelphia City Controller Rebecca Rhynhart released a performance audit of the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office.
It found that the Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal was spending fee revenue inappropriately and “operating outside of the checks and balances established in the Home Rule Charter meant to protect taxpayer funds from mismanagement or misuse.”
It also found inadequate accounting procedures, missing documentation, and other significant problems under Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal along with under previous Sheriff Williams.
Sure, current Philadelphia City Controller Christy Brady could perform another performance audit… and it 100% would find the same issues… and then some.
There is a “slush fund” made up of who knows what $$$ along with interest income from all of the money that the Sheriff’s Office has… at least $3 Million extra was put in there… tax payer dollars that could be going to save the Academy of Natural Sciences instead of slop from Sheriff Rochelle Bilal.
Enough is enough.
Disband the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office.

TWO 19-YEAR-OLDS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH PHILADELPHIA ARMED ROBBERY PATTERN
Philadelphia Police have arrested two 19-year-old men in connection with a series of robberies investigated by the department’s Central Detective Division.
The robberies occurred within the city’s 9th and 22nd Police Districts, which cover portions of Center City, Fairmount, and North Philadelphia.
Police identified the suspects as:
Jaiden Bethea, 19
Kyeme Hunter, 19
Both men are facing multiple criminal charges, including robbery, criminal conspiracy, firearms violations, theft, receiving stolen property, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
Bethea is additionally charged with possessing a firearm with an altered serial number.
Hunter faces an additional firearms charge under Pennsylvania’s prohibition on firearm possession by certain individuals with prior convictions.
The arrests come as Philadelphia Police continue investigating the robbery pattern across the two police districts.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the number of robberies involved, the specific locations, or the circumstances surrounding the arrests.
Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

DeVonté Douglass was the gun violence coordinator in Krasner’s office. In 2020 he shot and killed a male prostitute during a work-hours tryst. Krasner and Shapiro gave him a sweetheart deal. No charges on the shooting. Probation on a misdemeanor. Media blackout at first. Now City Councilmember Jeffery Young just hired him as a staffer. He is managing the councilman’s calendar.
Young is already saying “the media is out to get me.” You are not a victim. You are upset you got caught. Make no mistake — the media should absolutely make this a big deal.
This same city continues time and time again to hire known killers while impeding on the rights of innocent citizens. Yet these same people label me and my “character and reputation” as a crime victim. Yet this same City and DA gets to decide if I am “entitled” to know why, as a crime victim, they targeted me — the same office that allows killers free and covers up their misdeeds. I reported on multiple gun scandals on Giuliani and was censored and lost accounts for it. During that same period they were pushing the “racist” narrative around my loved one’s murder so Krasner could control the story. I spoke about legal gun rights before mine were ever taken. This city and this DA have violated my rights for years while calling for violence on me for exposing these cases.
