Islamic Finance is an absolute scam and if you feel differently you obviously are being intentionally blind to the immutable financial facts. It was a scam. It is a scam. It will always remain a scam. I don’t care if Mufti Taqi Usmani has personally signed off on this scam.

Let’s all remember the sage wisdom of Omar El-Akkad- “One day, when it's safe, when there's no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it's too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.”
Kamala Harris says her and Biden’s administration should have acted “sooner and more forcefully” regarding Israel’s attack on Gaza — and that the Trump administration “offers Netanyahu a blank check”: “America has at times fallen short on [moral obligation to human rights and international law]. Most recently, the failure to use our leverage to curtail the Israeli government's horrific conduct in the war in Gaza, both under the current administration, which offers Netanyahu a blank check, and our administration before, where we should have acted sooner and more forcefully.”

More proof of the complete absurdity of the proscription of Palestine Action. What a stain on this government that people in this country are unable to buy and enjoy the work of one of this generation’s greatest writing talents. De-proscribe Palestine Action now.

Bless her and everyone like her. However, we really need to understand that Israel won't allow humanitarian organisations to operate freely and fully in Gaza. Access to resources is sorely hindered. Many essentials are blocked by the Israelis. So where should this money go? We don't want the money to get stuck at the borders in the form of goods, aid, or whatever. We want the money in the pockets of the vulnerable and destitute. International humanitarian organisations have long been exploiting the situation in Gaza. Just very, very few can be trusted. Dozens of them are, in fact, banned from entering and alleviating the desperation and deprivation in the territory. My biggest concern is: I don't want these huge sums of money to be wasted. I want to see the people benefiting and bettering their lives out of this money. My suggestion is: Through their platforms, the celebrities can mobilise global support and overwhelming pressure on their government officials to force Israel to grant unfettered access to all essentials. This most importantly includes: mobile homes, medicines, building materials, and food. Humanitarian organisations must be permitted to function safely and independently all across the strip. If not, they should build their own charity in cooperation with trustworthy and verified people from Gaza and oversee it. Or at least, they should ensure that their money will reach people as soon as possible.
Ms Rachel is matching Macklemore’s $1 million donation and calling on every white celebrity to do the same “and speak out against the genocide in Gaza.”

I apologize if this is harsh but focus on what is happening to us. More people are talking about celebrities than the residential building that collapsed today. 100 people are still missing and trapped under the rubble. There is a shortage of medical and rescue equipment. The occupation is still restricting entry of lifesaving items. The caravans that were suppose to shelter us never arrived. I swear what is happening is madness.

i learned ants really have no concept of us as humans because of their limited eyesight and how big we are to them. they see us as moving shadows, or wind, or like obstacles and landscape (i imagine mountains). makes me wonder what’s in front of me right now that’s too large for me to comprehend.

A colleague introduced me to Thaura AI today and their origins and constitution almost sound too good to be true. Made by two Syrian brothers who want to create an ethical AI. Truly hope they succeed.

the collective annual zakat from muslims around the world would likely outweigh musk’s 2.5%. It’s almost as if money alone is not the solution to the world hunger crisis.
If he was a muslim 2.5% Zakat from him would had been solved world hunger crisis

Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write. This is the article: volkskrant.nl/kijkverder/v/2…

these lot will eventually try so desperately to gloss over their complicity, apathy, and the many ways in which they publicly flaunted the rot in their hearts.
The concerns I raised about Gaza - including distressing eyewitness accounts from UK medics - were a result of moral urgency, not 'mid life crisis'. It felt like hitting a brick wall at the time - now I know how casually those concerns were dismissed. theguardian.com/politics/202…

this will go systematically unnoticed for god knows when, and not a single entity will do a thing to slow it down let alone stop it, not even fake condemn it, and when Palestinians are pushed to explosion the world will act like Palestinians have started a new cycle of violence.
🚨BREAKING: Gaza is under heavy Israeli bombardment right now.

I don’t even feel like he took his own life. He was pushed beyond what a child’s mind and body can even process. This was a murder as sure as if IDF had shot him directly. Everything was taken from him, including his ability to believe in a future that included him. Be angry!
