ILITY Network | Technical Development Update: Ethereum Glamsterdam Alignment & Core Protocol Optimization Dear ILITY Community, The ILITY core development team is actively conducting internal Devnet testing and protocol-level engineering work to evaluate and adapt technical improvements associated with Ethereum's upcoming Glamsterdam hard fork, currently targeted for Q4 2026. This initiative focuses on strengthening ILITY's execution architecture, transaction processing efficiency, network scalability, and long-term state sustainability. Rather than simply adopting upstream changes, our engineering approach involves evaluating their compatibility with ILITY's existing architecture, identifying implementation dependencies, and validating potential optimizations under controlled Devnet conditions. 1. Protocol Compatibility & EIP Implementation Our current development scope includes compatibility assessment, implementation work, and technical validation related to the following Ethereum Improvement Proposals: EIP-7688, EIP-7778, EIP-7843, EIP-7976, EIP-7981, EIP-8024, EIP-8070 (eth/72), EIP-8136, EIP-8189 (snap/2), EIP-8246, and EIP-8282. The engineering process includes reviewing protocol specifications, assessing execution-layer and networking dependencies, and evaluating the implications of proposed changes for ILITY's network architecture. Each proposal is assessed individually to determine its applicability, implementation requirements, and potential impact on network behavior. 2. Execution Layer Optimization & Parallel Transaction Processing One of our primary areas of investigation is improving execution efficiency through transaction dependency analysis and parallel processing strategies. Traditional EVM execution follows a deterministic sequential transaction model. Introducing parallel execution requires careful coordination of state access, transaction dependencies, and conflict resolution. Our current engineering focus includes: - Evaluating transaction dependency identification and conflict detection mechanisms. - Investigating parallel execution opportunities for transactions with independent state access. - Preserving deterministic execution results and consensus consistency. - Assessing execution overhead, state access patterns, and transaction scheduling efficiency. The objective is to identify opportunities to improve execution throughput without compromising state correctness, determinism, or network security. 3. Block Processing, Validation & Network Propagation We are also examining the relationship between block execution workloads, validation latency, and peer-to-peer data propagation. As network capacity increases, efficient coordination between these components becomes increasingly important. Our development work focuses on: - Evaluating block processing and validation workflows. - Reviewing execution and propagation bottlenecks. - Assessing networking compatibility and protocol-level data exchange. - Investigating opportunities to improve resource utilization across node operations. These evaluations are intended to inform future architectural improvements that could support greater network capacity while maintaining reliable block verification and propagation. 4. State Growth Management & Long-Term Sustainability Sustainable blockchain scalability requires more than increasing transaction throughput. Long-term state growth, storage requirements, and node operating costs must also be considered when designing network upgrades. Our team is reviewing state management and gas accounting approaches with particular attention to: - Long-term state growth and storage overhead. - Gas cost alignment with persistent resource consumption. - State access efficiency and database performance. - Infrastructure requirements associated with future network capacity expansion. The objective is to evaluate mechanisms that can support sustainable network operation while reducing the risk of disproportionate storage growth and increasing hardware requirements. 5. Devnet Validation & Engineering Methodology All proposed architectural changes are being evaluated within ILITY's internal development environment before any consideration of mainnet integration. Our validation process focuses on several critical areas: - Protocol Compatibility: Assessing interactions between proposed changes and existing network components. - Execution Correctness: Verifying deterministic state transitions and identifying potential execution conflicts. - Performance Evaluation: Measuring relevant execution, validation, and networking characteristics under controlled test conditions. - Network Stability: Reviewing node behavior, synchronization requirements, and operational reliability. - Security Assessment: Identifying implementation risks, compatibility issues, and potential consensus-related vulnerabilities. Implementation decisions will be based on technical feasibility, test results, and security considerations rather than assumptions about expected performance improvements. 6. Roadmap Direction & Engineering for Future Scalability Our ongoing work is part of a broader effort to strengthen ILITY's core protocol architecture and maintain alignment with relevant developments across the Ethereum ecosystem. The current focus is on evaluating the technical foundations required for future improvements in execution efficiency, network capacity, and sustainable state management. These enhancements remain under active development and internal testing. No mainnet deployment date or quantified performance improvement is being announced at this stage. As development progresses, we intend to share further technical information regarding implementation milestones, compatibility validation, and Devnet evaluation results. ILITY Network is focused on engineering scalable infrastructure through protocol-level optimization, deterministic execution, and sustainable resource management. Our objective is not simply to increase network capacity, but to build the technical foundation required to support it reliably. ILITY Foundation | Core Development Team Protocol Engineering.
