What made Moné vs. Thekla so great was the pacing. They allowed the big moments to breathe, with a clear emphasis on storytelling and in-ring psychology. The little details were fantastic. Mercedes literally trying to “squash” Thekla, playing off her spider gimmick, was such a clever touch. The tombstone lungblower spot was BEAST. Then, the reveal that Mercedes’ nose had healed, leading directly into that incredible false finish, was masterful storytelling. The crowd was absolutely losing its mind! This was a perfect example of how a heel vs. heel dynamic can work when the characters, psychology, and execution are all in sync. Everything felt intentional, and the match was better for it. 👏🏽
