my job at slack was to avoid this very thing (visual product saturation and clunkiness).
really proud of what the team achieved while introducing dozens of new capabilities baked into the product.

hey @figma, genuine request - can i please have a real graph & dope sheet editor in the animation space?
i think that'll solve for 75% of the use cases for people who animate ui using after effects.

Businesses do not suffer because of peaceful protests. They suffer when the govt decides to shut down an entire city, suspend internet services and restrict the movement of its own citizens and turn the city into a war-zone.
Since its inception, the Cockroach Janta Party has maintained that we will always follow Gandhiβs path of peace and non-violence, and we have stood by that commitment. We have organised protests in Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bengaluru and Nagpur, and every single one of them has been peaceful. I was personally assaulted in Jaipur, but even then, I chose not to retaliate because responding to violence with violence goes against everything we believe in. We would rather exercise the rights guaranteed to us by the Constitution, drafted under the leadership of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, than resort to physical force. Our strength comes from our commitment to constitutional values, and no amount of provocation will make us abandon them.
Despite this, there are constant attempts to portray us as anarchists simply because we refuse to remain silent. But demanding answers from the govt is not anarchy, protesting against injustice on the streets is not anarchy, and questioning those who hold public office is certainly not anarchy. These are the most fundamental expressions of democracy. The very party that is in power today spent decades organising protests, taking to the streets and questioning the governments of the day when it was in opposition. Had the same restrictions, intimidation and police crackdowns been used against them, many of those who occupy positions of power today might never have reached where they are. It is deeply hypocritical to celebrate protests as a democratic right when you are in opposition and treat the same act as a threat to public order when you come to power.
We are not asking for privileges or special treatment. We are simply asking to exercise the rights that belong to every citizen of this Republic, irrespective of which party is in power. So let us fulfil our duty as citizens of this country by questioning those we elect, demanding accountability and speaking up whenever we witness injustice.
A govt that has been elected by the people is bound to listen to the people, not silence them. Democracy does not end once the votes have been counted.
Kaari roasting levelsio this hard was not on my 2026 bingo card.
Replying to @levelsio
Do you realize if you donβt let them know or put on the dnd sign then they will clean your room normally.
So those who donβt need cleaning or want to reduce their footprint can do it.
If you are shocked by this optionality that exists in the world, it must be you who have the mind virus.

When everyone else closed their doors for the protesters, then Sikhs stepped in and opened doors to all, providing food & security from this brutal government.
Huge respect for all Sikhs π

#India: We are concerned by reports of mass detentions of demonstrators, protest leaders, members of civil society organisations, lawyers and journalists, before and during todayβs large-scale demonstrations in Delhi.
We call on the authorities to ensure that the right to peaceful assembly is fully respected and fulfilled.

Our youth, students, lawyers, journalists, social activists, farm union leaders, You Tubers, content creators, everyone who is questioning this regime are being detained.
Modi Govt has turned the βMother of Democracyβ into a βMuzzled Democracyβ!
The cowardice of the BJP-RSS is on full display today.
Detentions, arrests, jails, lathis and pellets cannot deter the people of India. Since the days of our Freedom struggle, the youth have been at the forefront of shaping the nationβs destiny.
The Congress Party, along with the united Opposition, will fight this tyrannical regime, tooth and nail.
We shed our blood to win Indiaβs freedom. We will continue to fight, with every ounce of our strength, to defend our Democracy, our Constitution and the fundamental rights of every Indian.

This is worse than the Emergency.
Itβs official.. we are living under an absolute dictatorship ruled by Modi. Arresting cockroaches straight off their flight shows an unprecedented level of fear.
PM Modi clearly knows he only won the election through vote chori and now he is hell-bent on protecting his fraud by completely crushing democracy.
Gyanesh must go, but so must Modi.
We're live! Enjoy coloring your iOS apps.
colortokenskit.com
the macos email ecosystem is a mess. anyone building something great that doesn't give away all my personal email data to agents?
Every Swift app has the same mess - 100s of colors hand-picked in asset catalogues, custom hexes, noodly dark mode code, no a11y, missing contrast checks, and at least one color you just eyeballed.
I built a library that fixes all of this, and a wiki that hels you. Coming soon.
2010. Twitter for iPad, also designed by @lorenb i believe. The journey from the iOS app > iPad > Desktop is something we saw at Slack too.
2009. Tweetie for Mac.
Anyone remember those gradients and soft phong reflections from Maya? This was essentially the iPhone tab bar rotated for desktop.
This sidebar information architecture is everywhere now and I think its one of the proven ways to scale productivity apps.
After the initial influx of these designs in the 2010 era, its great to see it make a comeback in today's world.
A short trip down the memory lane π§΅
