I am convinced that a lot of people who think they like gothic horror actually just like moody lighting and period costuming.
Therapy doesn't fix your brain literally regarding food as inedible.
If someone put a plate of actual feces in front of you, no matter the amount of therapy you go through- you won't be able to eat it.
ARFID makes normal food give that same response. It's completely inedible.
