Closing Ohio arguments from the White House. Jon Husted's ass is fine Amy Acton didn't really get sexually abused by her stepfather when she was 12 despite court documents showing she did.

Blinder & Watson (2016) found that there is superior economic performance under Democratic Party presidents thanks to fewer wars and energy shocks, which they seem to characterize as dumb luck or something but IMO reflects a genuine pattern. slowboring.com/p/republican-…

calls *what* out like it is? like, are we going with "in 1978 Amy Acton lied about being raped by her stepfather, who then fled the jurisdiction with her mother"?
Vance: "And now the media and the Democrats in the state of Ohio are obsessed because, guess what? Vivek Ramaswamy had the audacity to run a TV commercial which calls it out like it is and calls Amy Acton a liar."

BREAKING: Stephen Miller and Jared Kushner are reportedly blaming each other for the GOP's midterm meltdown, with Miller calling the Iran War "Jared's folly," and Kushner pointing out that Republicans were gaining Hispanic voters until Miller turned ICE into a "US Gestapo."

The ADL refusing to name Trump here speaks for itself. Just a deeply unserious organization that has drifted far away from its stated mission, and one that has lost all credibility.
The term “Shylock” is rooted in a longstanding antisemitic stereotype. Regardless of intent, its use can reinforce harmful tropes about Jews and normalize language that has long been used to target the Jewish community.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The term was used (for at least the second intent in as many years) by President Trump. forbes.com/sites/siladity… Important context to point out the user of the term regardless of intent.

Everyone predicted this except The Management.
This was so foreseeable (indeed my early prediction when ChatGPT came out) but a lot of tech people have a hard time understanding that the hypothetical enriching use of a tech loses out to the lazy corner cutting use 99.9% of the time theguardian.com/technology/2…

I hold my nose and vote for Dems I’m not crazy about pretty regularly bc they’re still better than the alternative. Now all of a sudden a bunch of ostensibly vote blue no matter who Dems can’t bother doing it during a crucial midterm? Weak.

The maximum amount an individual can donate to a candidate is $3500. Elon Musk just donated $7 million to one Republican, because Citizens United gave a loophole to billionaires to buy elections. Overturn Citizens United.

Yeah we’re not doing this while Trump is president. Republicans do not get to say shit about disrespecting women when a literal sex offender is in the Oval Office
Sen. Susan Collins blasts Troy Jackson over his “shut up” remark, saying his response was “very telling” given his reputation for how he treats women who disagree with him: “I was struck by how reflexive the response, ‘Oh, shut up,’ was. But then I thought about the reputation that Troy Jackson has in Augusta, particularly when he’s dealing with women with whom he disagrees. So, in some ways, it didn’t surprise me. And the fact that it seemed like such an automatic, quick reply was very telling.”

Wow! If this doesn't get the cost of groceries and gas down, nothing will. Well done, Mr. President.
I am pleased to announce that the Department of the Interior, under the auspices of Secretary Doug Burgum, and in conjunction with famed Golf Course Architect, Tom Fazio, has developed a plan to build a World Class Championship Golf Course on the site of the current East Potomac Golf Links, located in Washington, D.C. When completed, it will be open to the Public while, at the same time, designed to the Highest Level of Golf and able to hold World Class Tournaments such as the U.S. Open, the PGA Championship, the Ryder Cup, and the Presidents Cup. This Course will create many Jobs, and have a tremendously positive Economic Development impact on Washington, D.C., and the surrounding area. Millions of Dollars will inure to the Capital area. The current Course is old, broken, dilapidated, and of no further use or effect. It is in very poor condition, with falling, dangerous, and disease infested trees and, importantly, a collapsing and hazardous seawall. When the East Potomac Course was originally built, it was famous for no trees, with views of Washington, D.C., for all to see, but now, it is completely overgrown, dysfunctional, and unsafe. Restoration work will begin on the Fazio Design on November 15th, when the old Course will be closed to play. The new Course will be opened in approximately 15 months. The United States Golf Association, PGA of America, and the PGA Tour have already been notified that they will soon have one of the Best and Most Spectacular Golf Courses anywhere in the World to put on their list of great places to play, and hold Major Events. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP ( TS: Oct 18 2026, 10:09 AM ET )‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍

"Tommy" is not a voter. He is a Hawley staffer, not from Michigan, paid to pose as a voter and told to ask only the one question over and over. An empty suit, an embarrassment to the GOP. But not to you!
El Sayed’s campaign posted this thinking he somehow looked good trying to dress down a voter. Now millions are watching the candidate look like an angry, overly defensive jerk.

I like that CNN is almost explicitly arguing that Republicans have the right to say whatever they want about Democrats, while Democrats have no right to respond This is the media environment we live in
BASH: There was a protester during your debate with Susan Collins. She responded by saying 'this must be a Troy Jackson supporter' and you told the senator 'shut up.' Do you regret saying that? TROY JACKSON: No. I'm not going to be talked down to by Sen. Collins. I'm not going to apologize for that, no.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
