Meet the Monkey D. Luffy Super Pre-Release WINNER. 🏴‍☠️ The first Winner promo Bandai ever issued in modern OPTCG. Let me tell you the story. September 2022. Before OPTCG launched at retail, Bandai ran Super Pre-Release events worldwide. Small player tournaments at participating stores. To the winners, only the winners, they handed out a single promo. This is P-001. The first card ever assigned to the Promotion category. Every Winner card that came after, every Pre-Release stamped promo, every event-exclusive, they all trace back to this one. It's a crazy card. Massive "SUPER PRE-RELEASE WINNER" printed across it. "NOT FOR SALE" sealed on the side. The colors and texture in hand are insane, pictures don't do it justice. To even own one, someone had to register through Bandai's app, show up at their local Super Pre-Release event before the game existed publicly, buy the special starter deck, enter a tournament, win it. Then never play it, never trade it, and eventually let it go. That's the story. Here's the part that made me even more bullish: During the 50% OPTCG market crash, this card barely moved. Lows ~$6,900 in December, recovered to $8,000+ within a week. 5 listings across every major platform right now. Recent sales cluster $8,500–9,000. Sellers don't part with them. The first edition of the first edition. The Winner of the Winners. Foundational era. Locked supply. Dip tested holder conviction. Bookmark this post. Come back in a few years.
