as someone who spent a lot of her life in northern wisconsin, surrounded by canadians, i feel authorized to say the accents in Netflix's Below are irish accents in canadian clothing

So the people defending the Cornell 7 genuinely believe a woman reported a consensual encounter and *told the people she was reporting it to* that it was fully consensual and she had a great time? Why would she bother reporting at all if she felt it was consensual??
I think the most disheartening thing about the Cornell case is that I am disgusted by the administration, but not surprised
Never surprised
Because every woman knows a Jane Doe, or has been one herself
rubbing my Cheeto dust fingers on my gums like it’s coke #amwriting
everyone pour one out for my off track TB, "Bea," who will be stuck living at the vet's office for at least another week 😭
and as always, you can stay up with all things writing (like the western-inspired fantasy novel I'm working on) and horse girl activities elsewhere

anyway, my mom's school has gone virtual for now, but the kids and their families still need help.
the school's put together a wishlist. it's mostly basics, but every bit helps
so if you're looking for a way to help some kids in St Paul, MN, here's one

every time i talk to my mom on the phone, i feel helpless. she tells me how her classes get emptier every day. how the kids don't understand why someone would want to take their mom, dad, aunt, uncle...
what do you even say to that?
my mom is still teaching in MSP, + her students are regularly facing the direct results of ICE's continued presence + targeting of minority communities
most are afraid to come to school. some have returned home to find a parent or sibling gone, taken by ICE
hi. it's been a while. as some of you may know, i'm from just outside of minneapolis, and lived in the city for years.
today, a man was murdered outside of a donut shop i used to visit regularly. i still have a mug from the shop in my cupboard here in tx
