I bought and fixed up an old Ford mechanical diesel (7.3 idi) last fall just in case. Lower fuel pressure than EFI so the lines are wider and can accommodate and run on used engine oil or atf in a pinch (filter before putting in tank).
If no Internet/no pumps/no problem. The world is your gas station, just find a donor vehicle.
Easy to force/shear the locking pin in tumbler with big fuck off flat screw driver and applied leverage if you lose your keys ;)

Not surprised David Bowie had powers like that or that he was in a psych ward

I wonder how big the army of mercenaries that guards these is?
idk newfoundlanders... he couldn't read or write or do basic math, but he was the best carpenter i've ever met. he was the embodiment of the calvin from calvin and hobbs pissing decal you'll often find stuck in the back window of a dodge truck

it's bidirectional, so not just something you are saying but something said to you as well.
there's never a bad time to tell someone you love them back. those are just head games.

he was pretty fun
just remembered the old newfoundlander (i think he had o.d.d.) that taught me finishing carpentry years ago
on one job he'd put a cabinet up over an electricians junction box before they were finished with it:
>head electrician comes into the room we're in and starts laying into him
>newfoundlander just stands there not saying anything or breaking eye contact, arms straight/rigid by his sides
>mid sentence as the electrician is cursing him out, newfie undoes his belt and drops his pants to the floor. (like body completely still, only moving his arms) does not break eye
>stands there in his underwear staring at the guy
>electrician leaves and never bothers us again

i was briefly a camp manager/safety person for a reality show about northern industry. this was an executive producer.
honestly i kind of liked him, but would never want my personal life anywhere near his.
he carried a tune pretty well.

worked with a guy once who would compulsively throw a pocket knife into the floor during meetings and rapidly flick the blade in and out during tense one on one discussions
as soon as the meeting/talk was done he would turn around, bust into show tunes and dance his way out

i remind you of the advice you gave me earlier about questioning assumptions and staying open to being surprised and i wish you a good rest of your day
i have strange invisible schemes to tend to
