In my testing I used the Beast x, Crdrako KO-one, and the op18k. I had the beast setup with a set of speed skates, ko-one was on control skates, and the op18k was on the stock skates out of the box to test a few different setups on the pad. The most fun I had on this pad was with the speed skate setup, as it helped mitigate a little bit of the static buildup in the environment I play games in. With the Speed setup I found my aim was the most consistent for fast flicks and tracking in comparison to the other setups I used. The stock ptfe skates of the Op18k felt faster than the controlled skates, but not quite as fast as the pink foxes on the speedier setup. The vanta black control skates felt way too muddy of an experience for my personal tastes on this pad and My kovaaks results showed a decent decline in comparison to the other two setups. The artwork pops VERY well on the Solstice Aura super bright yellows and orange cover the pad, although there are some parts of the print that come through a little less clear due to being fine details on a dense microfiber surface. The surface being microfiber might be my least favorite part about it; I am very particular about how a surface feels against my skin (due to skin conditions) This pad feels a lot better with a sleeve for me personally. The base of the pad sticks to the texture wrap on my desk very well, some pads have trouble staying in place on my desk. This is not one of them. Overall my time with the Aura was pleasant provided I was using a speedier mouse setup. Not my personal cup of tea since I’ve been stuck on glass as of recently, and I don’t have many peripherals that would look good with it in my setup. That being said, if you like controlled surfaces or are looking for something with really good stopping power this might be the one for you.
