Dungeon Crawler #gamedev progress 💪
My #indiegame projects 2D layers in real-time to create this 3D effect. The layers are hand-made in Blender with NPR shaders.
Built with @phaser_ + Blender 3D 🔸

I truly don’t understand the AI slop game bandwagon. Game development is one of the few software engineering practices where I do most everything by hand. Game “feel” requires so much attention to detail I can’t imagine handing all that off.
Maybe I’m crazy but I think the more realistic outcome with AI is some hacker will get their hands on a very capable model and orchestrate a global outage like we’ve seen in the early Internet. This will force the gov to institute regulations but nothing crazy.
My account is constantly being locked for simple interactions here. Even when I paid for premium I never got support.
Anyone else have this trouble? I enjoy having Twitter to keep up with dev stuff but reliability of this site is horrendous.

AI red flags:
- "My marketer agent just finished a meeting with my chief of staff agent - just 2 of the 127 agents on my books"
- "The agent did it, not me"
- "I've invented a coding language for agents"
- "I've got 250K tokens in my context before I send a message, is that normal?"
- "Opus 5 is way dumber today than yesterday, secret nerf?"
- "Peasants, gaze upon my 600-line CLAUDE.md, my results are incredible"
- "LOOK WHAT OX ALPHA JUST ONE-SHOTTED, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING IS DEAD"
- "All human knowledge is worthless now"
- "I turned 600 coding books into a skill"
- "Coding is solved. Bugs are not solved"
I never thought I’d miss the charm of bad quality work training videos.
I just watched my first fully AI workplace harassment awareness video and it was terrible.
I did my first AI coding interview for a company and scored a 99%.
I wouldn’t say I aced it but I could tell exactly what the llm was looking for. Maybe AI interviews aren’t so bad?
Design systems at big orgs are so garbage.
People are offering to modernize a lot of our customer facing UIs because they look terrible by today’s standards. AI is making it very easy to do so.
Our org is saying “no” because the design system is its own thing. This archaic “standard” needs to go.
After years of using Unity, I’m going to dip my toes in Godot. Let’s see if it’s as good as the cult says it is.
I’m seeing so many “one shot Fable games” and I don’t get the hype. Everything being posted looks completely unplayable.
Sure you could argue it’s a nice start but the rework is not trivial. Games are all about “feel” and AI has no concept of that. I am waiting to see if this is just a fad.
I know it’s probably just a coincidence but after hearing about the Spotify drama nothing is working in the app for me today
Noticing a trend towards higher levels of abstraction in this AI enabled era. Markdown was a big transition over plaintext. Now HTML. Soon the bar will be raised even higher and entire interfaces will be trivial.
I love ascii art.
Decided to make a little nvim plugin that plays ascii reactions.
Still early really fun to use already 👌

It’s nice to see real developer focused features in a time where all I see is AI “products” on my feed

Still seeing token anxiety everywhere
We're paying below minimum wage for development and still asking how we can pay less
Don't think in raw tokens, think in value shipped per token
