Turut berkesempatan bertemu Vice-Chancellor and President USQ, Professor Paul Mazerolle. ISDAT merupakan salah satu institut di bawah USQ yang memfokuskan kepada penyelidikan gunaan, termasuk dalam bidang bahan komposit (composite materials). Menerima taklimat ringkas serta meninjau kemudahan di makmal Advanced Composite Manufacturing dan makmal Hypersonic yang dibangunkan melalui kerjasama dengan beberapa syarikat industri pertahanan, termasuk Rocket Technologies International Pty Ltd (RTI). Lawatan ini turut memberi gambaran bagaimana industri memanfaatkan kepakaran institusi akademik untuk membangunkan teknologi dan produk pertahanan mereka. Pendekatan seperti ini amat penting dalam memacu penyelidikan dan pembangunan (R&D) pertahanan negara, sejajar dengan aspirasi Dasar Industri Pertahanan Negara (DIPN). Turut berkesempatan bertemu dengan Dr. Hizam Rusmi, anak Malaysia yang kini berkhidmat sebagai penyelidik di USQ. Beliau juga merupakan anak kepada seorang veteran ATM. Turut hadir Panglima Tentera Udara, Jen. Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan Aris TUDM, Naib Canselor UPNM, Lt. Jen. Datuk Wira Arman Rumaizi Ahmad, CEO National Aerospace Industry Corporation Malaysia (NAICO Malaysia), Prof. Ts.
