as atualizações do vaticano da saude do papa tão assim: "o papa segue bem e em repouso, hoje ele fez parkour no teto do hospital, ainda segue em observação"
The universe continues to curse the most empathetic and caring. I hope he makes a full recovery. He’s been incredibly outspoken for the oppressed and advocating for unity amongst us. This is so sad to see.

Alexandra Trusova: “If I don’t win at the Denis Ten Memorial and don’t get a place on the GP alternate list, then I don’t. I will go on vacation. I have realized once again that figure skating is not the most important thing in my life.”

Book Carrie isn’t the pretty girl getting stylish cafeteria revenge. King describes her as overweight, acne-scarred, and socially invisible “a frog among swans” whose first public humiliation is the locker-room period scene where the other girls pelt her with tampons while she sits frozen in blood.
Her telekinesis doesn’t start as controlled payback; it erupts from that shame, then later from the pig’s-blood dousing at prom, and she levels the whole town rather than just embarrassing a couple of bullies.
Adaptations keep casting conventionally attractive leads and softening the body horror, which is why the “satisfying” version never quite matches the novel’s uglier, more total collapse.
the sequence where carrie tests out her telekinetic powers on her bullies was so satisfying lmaoo she was finally getting a little payback #carrie

The thing about Carrie is that every adaptation since DePalma refuses to grapple with the fact that Carrie White should make the viewer feel uncomfortable.

Growing up, a hit song crossed demographics whether the genre was your favorite or not. People who don’t primarily listen to country still know Dolly, Shania, Carrie, The Chicks, etc. because they made actual hit records that crossed over. If a song can spend 23 weeks at #1, breaking records that stood for 20+ years, while a huge portion of the public is sincerely saying they’ve never heard it, maybe the conversation isn’t “people hate country.” Maybe @RollingStone should be writing about how streaming-era chart dominance no longer equals cultural dominance because there’s some trickery at play. That’s the real story being avoided. Don’t gaslight us.
What Some Folks Really Mean When They Claim to Have Never Heard ‘Choosin’ Texas’
Proclaiming you're unfamiliar with Ella Langley's record-setting song has a lot in common with saying "I listen to anything but country."

🚨 Official: Manchester City Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak statement.
“I have been part of this Club for 18 years. I have had the privilege to stand with you in the Etihad, at Wembley, and in Istanbul. This Club matters to me, and you have shown and told me – time and time again - how much Manchester City matters to you. This is why I am writing to you today”.
“Following Friday’s media reporting, many of you will have spent your evening answering questions and responding to messages from friends, family and colleagues. So have I”.
“Here’s what I said to my family: The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began”.
“There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position. But the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our determination to respect it means I cannot do that at the moment. Even this letter underwent several legal checks to make sure it complies”.
“I ask you to please carefully read the statement below, which we gave on Friday, and the statement we issued in February 2023 (also below). Every word matters and holds true”.
“While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed. We have faced challenges together before and have prevailed. There remain many who want to undermine the momentum of our Club. We will not give them that opportunity”.
“We have some exciting moments to look forward to after this international break. We travel to Anfield in a fortnight, and then host Paris St Germain in the Champions League back at Etihad Stadium - moments that give us an opportunity to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family”.
“Thank you, as always, for your constant support. Khaldoon Al Mubarak”.
