Jako ambasador Polski w Afganistanie uczestniczyłem w wielu uroczystych pożegnaniach tych żołnierzy, wylatujących do Ojczyzny na wieczny spoczynek.
Podczas ostatniej drogi przez bazę Bagram przed ich trumnami klękali dyplomaci i żołnierze polscy, amerykańscy i wszyscy, którzy walczyli w Afganistanie.
Każde z nazwisk i historii znałem aż nadto dobrze.
Jeden z wymienionych niżej poległych żołnierzy osobiście chronił mnie i polską ambasadę w chwili ciężkiej próby, a polską flagę, którą mi wręczył podczas swojej służby, możecie Państwo obejrzeć na moim zdjęciu profilowym.
Zginął kilka tygodni później, a flaga pozostała ze mną i na moim ramieniu.
Nosząc ją w Ukrainie, przypominam sobie, po co tu jestem.
Cześć pamięci Jego i wszystkich poległych za Ojczyznę.
