.@AuratMarch - Where?
Forcibly evicting @MuradSaeedPTI elderly and disabled mother from her home and throwing her belongings onto the street is state brutality at its most shameful. What kind of lawlessness targets the mother of a political opponent? This is a flagrant violation of human dignity, fundamental rights and the rule of law. This is Viceroy Kundis Rule for you.

Today marks 30 days since my aunts, Dr Uzma Khan @DrUzma_KhanPK and Noreen Niazi @Noreen_KhanPK were taken from their homes and detained under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law.
Their 30-day detention period has now reached its expiry, yet we have received no further order from the Lahore High Court, nor any official communication from the Punjab Home Department or jail authorities explaining the legal basis for their continued detention or confirming their release.
On what legal grounds are they still being held? Why have they not been released?
For an entire month, they have been denied access to their families and legal counsel. Their only crime is standing by their brother, Imran Khan @ImranKhanPTI and refusing to remain silent.
Thirty days of detention. No family access. No legal access. No justice.

My mother, @Aleema_KhanPK Aleema Khan’s 30-day detention period under the colonial-era Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) law has now expired.
Yet, despite the expiry of her 30-day detention period, we have received no further order from the Lahore High Court, nor any official communication from the Punjab Home Department or jail authorities explaining the legal basis for her continued detention or confirming her release.
On what legal grounds is she still being held? Why has she not been released?
Since the day she was abducted and subsequently detained under the MPO, she has been denied access to both her family and legal counsel. One of the strongest voices advocating for her brother, Imran Khan @ImranKhanPTI, has also been silenced.
Thirty days have passed. No family access. No legal access. No justice.
Are the authorities preparing to extend her detention for another 30 days? If so, on what grounds?
We demand her immediate release.
Not another day of silence, obstruction of justice, or denial of her most basic rights is acceptable.

The billionaire class are desperately trying to convince you the protests in France are because of "the muslims." They're terrified you'll realise they're actually about the billionaires.
I don’t really care for all the people wishing Americans protested like the French because when there was a nation-wide protest that started from Black people challenging police brutality, a lot of people were cheering on the police and state kidnapping and running people over

5 Questions About Astrobiology’s Future At NASA
astrobiology.com/2026/10/07/…
Keith's note: With regard to the changes in how @NASAScience_ - NASA Science Mission Directorate proposed to change the way it handles #Astrobiology. SMD reps at the @theNASciences meeting keep saying that NASA SMD will now spread astrobiology across all of the things @NASA SMD does. OK, Sounds groovy. One would assume that there is a detailed plan in place whereby this will be done. I'd like to see it - and I am rather certain the space science (Astrobiology) research community would too.
So - can NASA SMD or NASA PAO provide me with
1. The document - guidance - directives - plans - advisory committee recommendations - mission requirements documents etc. wherein this distribution and incorporation about astrobiology across the SMD portfolio is going to be baselined;
2. The specific SMD activities (missions, ground research etc.) that are required to consider these things;
3. where (specifically) they incorporate Astrobiology in missions and research - past, present, future, proposed;
4. A publication bibliography tagged to these specific areas where Astrobiology is part of the mix - data, results etc. - one that is linked and compatible with accepted scientific data systems (PubMed, Arxiv.org etc.);
5. NASA plans over the long term to achieve real cross disciplinary research connections/collaborations between Astrobiology, Astrochemistry, Astronomy, Astrophysics, Planetary Geology, Heliophysics, etc.
6. How NASA intends to blend all of 1-5 together to continue its various education and public outreach activities - and explain why some things it currently does will now be cancelled - and what will replace these cancelled activities.
Again, I assume that all of this is already in place so as to justify and implement the large changes NASA is implementing for its 30 year old Astrobiology research program. I'll send this to SMD and PAO. Lets see what happens. FYI @NASAAdmin @NASASpox @NASAScience_ @theNASciences #IAC2026

What tasks should AI be trusted with, and when should humans remain involved? Designing those decision rights is one of the defining challenges of the AI era. Researchers at @MIT_CISR have developed a framework to help.

ALT This image presents "The AI Decision Matrix" from MIT Sloan. It is a chart that categorizes decision complexity into four quadrants, based on ambiguity and risk. The quadrants are: 1. Exploratory: High ambiguity, low risk (Approach: Enable experimentation). 2. Strategic: High ambiguity, high risk (Approach: Co-create with human oversight). 3. Routine: Low ambiguity, low risk (Approach: Automate and monitor). 4. Consequential: Low ambiguity, high risk (Approach: Manage to ensure foresight). At the bottom, decision components, participant designations, and decision approaches are outlined. The chart credit mentions the work of E. Sebastian, P. Wefel, T. Haskamp, and J. vom Brocke.

The Lancet just published a paper on the top 21st-century global threats to health!
And put the paper behind a paywall...
"We argue that recent global shocks (including COVID-19, Ebola Bundibugyo virus disease, major geopolitical conflict, accelerating climate impacts, rapid shifts in development assistance, and the emergence of powerful artificial intelligence [AI] systems) show how quickly assumptions about stability can be overturned—and why governments and multilateral institutions must counter short-termism and localism with systematic, repeatable risk assessment and preparedness planning."
I remade their key figure to highlight what they found interesting: malicious use of AI as a top threat, for example.
