Dramatic skies over Wetherlam this morning after heavy overnight rain and further showers today. Tarn Hows, Lake District NP

These are the in-between days, the cusp of seasons. Autumn is sidling through the branches and hedgerows, daily brushing more of her bronze and gold into the green. Every falling leaf, every misty morning, ushers summer a little further along the lane.

Morning everyone I hope you are well. Before all this wind and rain moved in, a wander past the beautiful Slater's Bridge. Have a great day.

The villages of the #peakdistrict always stop me in my tracks when I see them dreaming on quiet mornings. All was peaceful on the lanes as I watched this scene, the early sun brushing the trees, turning them to gold here and there, and the mist still lazily drifting across the fields. Even the old gate looked like it needed to stretch and wake up.

Morning everyone I hope you are well. The recent rain certainly brings the becks back to life. Here at Stonethwaite Beck in Borrowdale. Have a great day.

Before becoming a Labour MP, John Healey farted about, studying social science at university, working in journalism, disability rights campaigning, and as a campaigns director for the Trade Unions Congress. In what way is he even remotely qualified to be Chancellor of the Exchequer? Zero credentials, zero experience, zero legitimacy.

Today is my birthday, so I hope you won't mind that I'm sharing one of my own favourite photographs, despite the fact that it's an oldie AND it's slightly out of season AND it's a sheep appearing on a Wednesday. What am I even thinking?! But if I can't indulge myself on my birthday, well, when can I?! 🤭
A few years ago, on the side of Higger Tor on a sunny evening, I was focusing my attention on the beautiful view in the distance, when this little face poked around the rocks and stared at me with such a quizzical expression. She made me laugh out loud, which made her stare even more. She has since appeared on my business cards, thank you cards, tea towels, notepad covers, and my advertising banner - she really deserves royalties! I hope she brings a smile to your face today. 🙂

We are brainwashing an entire generation.
Indulgence of victimhood.
Rejection of agency.
Abdication of responsibility.
This is an absolute scandal. 👇🤯🤯

Activist: "Farmers pump their cows full of antibiotics. It's in every glass of milk."
Dairy farmer: "Do you know what happens if it is?"
Activist: "People drink it."
Dairy farmer: "The tanker gets tested at the gate. One cow's worth of antibiotic in 20,000 litres and the whole load goes down the drain. Every farm on the run that morning gets their milk tipped, and the farm that did it pays for all of it."
Activist: "So you're saying it never happens."
Dairy farmer: "I'm saying a treated cow on this farm gets red tape round her leg, goes to the back of the parlour, and her milk goes in a bucket for 6 days. I treat her like she's radioactive, because financially she is."
Activist: "You still use them."
Dairy farmer: "On a cow that's ill. Same as you. The vet writes it up, the date goes on the wall, and the wall's checked. Use on this farm is about half what it was 10 years ago, and that's every dairy I know."
Activist: "Routine use in feed, then."
Dairy farmer: "Illegal for years. Growth promoters went 20 years ago. You're describing a chicken shed in a country I don't farm in."
Activist: "You can't prove it's not in the milk."
Dairy farmer: "I can prove it 3 times a week, because they test it 3 times a week and send me the sheet. When did you last get a sheet on your oat drink?"
Activist: "That's different."
Dairy farmer: "It is. Nobody tests it. Mine's the most inspected liquid in your kitchen and it's the one you're scared of."

This is the liberal worldview in one clip. Grooming gangs don’t matter. It was a distant scandal. It’s been blown out of proportion. I would rather talk about AI & economics.
Aside from conveniently ignoring the fact, as even Louise Casey reports, that grooming gangs are still rife TODAY, like most liberals Rory’s brain cannot compute what the scandal is really about.
As Jon Haidt showed in his work, unlike conservatives liberals literally cannot process in-group loyalty, belonging, tradition, or the sanctity of a community.
The grooming gang scandal matters and should be front and centre in our national debate because it ran roughshod over all of that.
It involved the violation of our people and children. It saw out-groups prey on the in-group. And it directly clashed with our values.
Most ordinary people can see that. They can sense that while this is about Pakistani gangs it’s also about a fundamental clash of values and an intense anger about how fellow members of the in-group were treated by outsiders.
But liberals like Rory cannot. They will only ever talk about harm when it is done to minorities or outsiders. And they will only ever talk about empathy when it involves migrants, outsiders, newcomers — they literally have no serious interest in white British working class kids, never-mind showing them more loyalty than migrant communities.
Liberals have an enormous blind spot which you see right here in this clip. They are just incapable of talking about group identity, loyalty, and culture which is also why they are losing politically. They do not even think it’s worth talking about. Unfortunately for them, millions of people think otherwise.

In 2008 the UK paid the same price for natural gas as the US.
Today we pay eight times more.
Yet another example of how badly this country is and has been led.
If govt had just stayed out of it, this would not be the case. But no. They had to get involved.
