Toward the end of the last Ice Age the Desert Archaics began to roam this rugged land, leaving behind thousands of supernatural paintings in red iron oxide on these desert walls. This prehistoric artistic movement spans vast distances, all sharing complex figurative iconography. Some describe these floating, limbless forms as alien or apparitional. Other accounts suggest they could be deities encountered during vision quests, or perhaps shamans themselves documenting their psychedelic journey for ceremonial purposes. Far be it from me to say what they are.  My fascination with these works stems from a connection I feel between the ancient artists and myself - a striking harmony of narration, symbolism, illustration, an attempt to depict the archetype, a moment in the sky documented. Were these paintings an attempt to communicate with the afterlife? Or were these higher dimensional depictions of themselves?  To me, these images represent art in its truest sense, perhaps because I have never regarded art as mere commodity or entertainment. Art is one of the highest creations of the human spirit, alongside philosophy, literature, music, pure maths. It is a gallery of the mind, sending a subsurface understanding to deep faculties of consciousness we barely know exist. An awakening of the senses and memories long forgotten.  These symbols are unique to this particular region, yet they encompass a global language rich in archetype. When humanity learns to mutually respect one another, we will discover the shared components that describe a vastly different relationship between self and other. Join me on this and many more quests of who we truly are over on my YouTube.

This Four Corners landscape is an apocalypse lithified in sandstone. Deep cut dendritic canyons gouged out by repeating cycles of collapse over millennia. On this particular desert mission we went in search of an enigmatic series of archaic paintings left behind by those who inhabited these lands 10,000 years ago. Miles down one of the many remote tributaries of Barrier Canyon we found ourselves lost as night quickly fell. Only by the beam of our flashlights were we able to witness the Holy Ghost towering over seven feet above eleven spectral spirits. Check out the newest episode of High Plains Drifter on my YouTube. #ancientgraffiti #pictographs #canyonlands

"The 20th century mind is nostalgic for the paradise that once existed on the mushroom dotted plains of Africa where the plant-human symbiosis occurred that pulled us out of the animal body and into the tool-using, culture-making, imagination-exploring creature that we are. And why does this matter? It matters because it shows that the way out is back and that the future is a forward escape into the past. This is what the psychedelic experience means. Its a doorway out of history and into the wiring under the board in eternity. And I tell you this because if the community understands what it is that holds it together the community will be better able to streamline itself for flight into hyperspace because what we need is a new myth, what we need is a new true story that tells us where we're going in the universe and that true story is that the ego is a product of pathology, and when psilocybin is regularly part of the human experience the ego is supressed and the supression of the ego means the defeat of the dominators, the materialists, the product peddlers. Psychedelics return us to the inner worth of the self, to the importance of the feeling of immediate experience - and nobody can sell that to you and nobody can buy it from you, so the dominator culture is not interested in the felt presence of immediate experience [...] Getting it all connected means tapping into the Gaian mind, and the Gaian mind is what we're calling the psychedelic experience [...] With that experience the compass of the self can be set, and that's the idea; figuring out how to reset the compass of the self [...] This is what we have to have to make the forward escape into hyperspace.” -Terence McKenna (Archaic Revival) -Art by me (The Golden Age of Gaia)

Incredibly honored to be included in this new monumental BEYOND THE STREETS group exhibition at the iconic @saatchi_gallery 🇬🇧 I’ve rocked several murals in the UK, but this show marks my London gallery debut. From the Streets to Saatchi…from petroglyphs to city walls…graffiti is the world’s largest art movement staking its permanence in our human consciousness.

What is the matrix? I see it as a net, a network that contains. Control is a matrix all its own, a psychological grid that infests human minds, driving people to go beyond what nature provides and play God. Human beings exist in a constant state of escaping one matrix into another, navigating a sticky world of predators seeking control over them. But what of nature itself? The organic mycelium network reflects a deeper, foundational level of archetypal system intelligence. Humanity has merely replicated this pattern in different mediums. The digital record and memory system of the internet is another level of this matrix, a mechanical echo of nature's webs. Because these networks exist, they can be weaponized. Woke agenda and patriot ideology function just like any other mind control system that is, will be, or ever has been. When we interact with friends, family, or strangers, it is immediately noticeable when they express a kind of simulacrum or hollow retroism that betrays their level of subjugation. This happens because human beings are hackable, making us vulnerable to external programming.  Some believe we are living in a literal simulation…would we still think that if we had never invented the internet? Others believe we reside in a holographic reality, projecting our consciousness into this matrix from another dimension. These hypotheses serve as good philosophical challenges to test yourself against the possibility of what might be true.  The ability to perceive the truth in others is a primal skill, one that usually manifests as an immediate physical sensation when someone is trying to deceive you - a sharp pain in the side of your head, your feet begin to tingle, a nauseating feeling in the gut, an inner voice warning you to stay away.  There are a million people who will try to deceive you throughout your life. When you realize this you will develop a shield of protection against the many tentacles of fear, control, and manufactured desire. From educational indoctrination camps to governments ready to tax your ass; convincing you to believe them is their number one priority because without your compliance they have no power.

Our skies are not an open-air laboratory‼️ I painted “David & Goliath” as a battle cry for humanity to wake the fuck up, and many of us have. Whether the effects of Geoengineering activities happening in our skies are intentional or not, @SecKennedy we deserve to know: -What is in our skies? -Who is responsible? -How is it affecting our health, ecosystems, weather cycles, agriculture? For decades I’ve been using my art as a slingshot to the Goliaths of industry and control. Our power lies in speaking up together and refusing to accept the irreversible risks of a planetary-scale fallout from the stratosphere to the ground. Rise up Earth People! Your voice matters! Tag your state and local officials and ask them to take a stand for your humanity ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 -If elected, will our next Governor of CA @XavierBecerra or @SteveHiltonx commit to a statewide ban on Geoengineering like Florida and Tennessee have done? -If elected, will our next @MayorOfLA or @nithyavraman apply pressure on our U.S. Senators to work across party lines to ban all types of weather modification including cloud seeding and solar radiation modification?  -If elected, will @Angela4CA or @JimmyGomezCA similarly commit to seeking bipartisan legislative action against climate intervention? @sara__hernandez Sarah Rascon / Jessica Caloza Andrea Lee Anderson @CAGOP where do you stand on sponsoring atmospheric protection legislation in Sacramento?

Big time love & thanks Rick Griffin fam for the early viewing tix to @lucasmuseum the experience was enlightening! The narrative art form has always been my steez ever since I started collecting CONAN The Barbarian comics in the mid-70s. Fantastic Realism was my precocious conduit from old world mythologies to modern science fiction tales bursting with adventure, danger, glorious victory and Frank Frazetta @frazettagirls captured the raw brute force of CONAN’S story better than any other artist. His anatomy was so articulate with foreshortening & dynamic pose rendered to perfection.  Alphonse Mucha was another early childhood favorite of mine because his work brought a philosophical underscore to both his historic subject matter and elegant Art Nouveau aesthetics. The same care of costume design and fluid articulation echo in yet another art hero of mine, H.R. Giger, whose surrealist works feature prominently in the museum.  And how refreshing to see the glorious paintings of Maxfield Parrish infuse the gallery with more light than they were unfortunately properly afforded. His landscapes set the stage for a theatrical moment of natural realism, depicted with as much attention one would lend to anatomical construction.  Norman Rockwell’s famous 1962 painting “The Connoisseur”punctuates these halls like an exclamation point on Lucas’ 40,000-piece collection, boldly challenging institutional norms and the art world status quo. I grew up between the Bodhi Tree bookstore and Golden Apple Comics, instantly mixing mysticism and mythology to inform my drawings and worldview from an early age. From B. Dalton to Pickwick on Hollywood Blvd., books were the only place to see art like this. No traditional museums paid this powerful art form the respect it deserved, possibly because it didn't fit the approved narratives meant to shape the psychology of society. There are still a few definitive artists missing, though, and I’d recommend adding masters like Rick Griffin, Robert Williams @alexgreycosm and maybe one day get some @mearone up in there. This museum represents a legacy of love and visual storytelling for a world that is becoming less woke and more awake.

"So, how'd you get into bitcoin?" Me: LSD
Replying to @FractalEncrypt
And to bring it all back home, this is the art that brought me into bitcoin. I made some 900-hit sheets of blotter art from my Grateful Dead 50th Anniversary art, and a guy from Brazil wanted to buy 50 sheets, and wanted to know if I would accept Bitcoin. I told him I would, but I had no idea how to accept it. He helped me set up a web wallet and sent me 3.1 bitcoins for the art, and quietly disappeared back into the internet. I ever heard from him again, but whoever you are...thank you, and I think of you often and warmly.
