Jess has been incredibly responsive and generous with her time when I and others have approached her on this topic. We know this disproportionately impacts women and children far more than anyone else. Users should have greater rights to protect their image/identity when it is being used without consent across all tools and platforms. Please do check out the petition and consider adding your name.

Following a few interesting discussions I've had this week, I would be very interested in people's views on this one! If social media platforms offered an AI on/off toggle button, which had the ability to either show or remove all AI-generated content. Would you use it?

Pleased to be in attendance at @TheIFS Deaton Review event today relating to inequalities and public policy. Here is @JCribbEcon kicking things off.

Sleeping in a cathedral and wondering around by myself is freaking awesome 😅🤘

It was a pleasure to support Sir Steve Webb with his response to this week's reader's question for @thisismoney

An honour to attend the Holocaust Memorial Service today. It is vitally important to remember the six million Jews systematically murdered during the Holocaust. It is unquestionably one of the darkest events in human history. Sadly, all too often, we continue to witness antisemitism in our world today. The service provided time to reflect and reminded us that we must act against all forms of prejudice, hatred, and antisemitism. It was heartwarming to see so many school children across the city showcase their talents to demonstrate and perform how much they have learnt about this topic and how we must never let such atrocities happen again.

I was very pleased that my motion, entitled ‘Safeguarding Against AI-Generated Deepfakes and Online Harassment’, was unanimously passed at last night's full council. This video clip is part of my speech, where I thank all users who spoke up and shared their experiences in recent weeks. In particular, @jessalinecaine, for all her work on this topic and reviewing this motion. I look forward to continuing to work with Jess on her idea around a potential ‘Digital Integrity Act’ – watch this space (after she has enjoyed her adventures)! I will put the wording of the full motion in the comments for all to see. Due to this being a fast-moving topic and the motion deadlines, I submitted version four of this motion on the morning of the 12th, resulting in it still being one announcement update out of date. However, I felt the motion as a whole was still valid.
