A few weeks ago I attended Cafe Compute by @cerebras where I got to learn more about @mastra and chat with @bookercodes They also offered attendees free copies of their books about building AI agents and a few days ago mine finally arrived 👀 Looking forward to digging into these. Thanks Mastra and great meeting you Alex! 🙌

unpopular opinion: plan mode is still useful

After a few days of using Grok 4.7 in Grok Build I can say it feels more reliable and communicative than 4.6. It also does a better job with Swift and follows constraints more consistently. For future releases I hope they can bring back the speed of 4.5 or make it even faster

Finally! I liked Grok 4.5 more than 4.6. Let’s see what 4.7 brings to the table 🤞
Grok 4.7 is here. It's a notable improvement over Grok 4.6 at the same price and speed.

Interesting article about Shopify going back to native. If you can go native from the beginning and it fits your needs go for it. But I've always thought these decisions depend on a lot of factors and sometimes choosing between native and cross-platform isn't that easy. What matters is picking the one that fits your needs and helps you ship faster without compromising the product. Nowadays, with LLMs and coding agents you can move much faster with either approach. Shopify is a great example of how AI can even change the assumptions behind a technical decision that made perfect sense a few years ago. At the end of the day, the stack is a means to an end. Pick what works best for you now, ship, learn, and be willing to pivot when those assumptions change.

Navi hadn’t reported back yet, so I got a bit worried and asked Elon to check. No new listing. Then I realized my prompt might be too specific, removed “Remake” from the game title, and boom! 🫪 that did the trick 😅

We’re ending our partnership with Cursor following its acquisition by SpaceX. Under our proposal, Cursor’s direct access to our models would end on November 12. We know that the people most affected by this decision are the developers who rely on OpenAI models in Cursor. We care about their experience in this transition and we’re ready to go above and beyond to support them. openai.com/index/our-decisio…

Finally got access to the @bot! Let's see what I can do with it 👀 Any useful use cases to share?

Well, it was fun while it lasted
Tomorrow we will bring back the 5h limit for Plus accounts across ChatGPT Work and Codex. I had mentioned this a while ago, but then postponed it. This is necessary as (a) the 5h limit allows us to smoothen the load on our compute, allowing to keep the plan generous in terms of weekly usage and (b) users on the Plus plan are relatively casual and new users, but then also just accidentally eat through their whole weeks usage and then are confused, making it not a great experience. We are for the upcoming months keeping the 5h limit not enabled for Pro $100 and Pro $200 subscriptions.

Sol S+ tier Grok B tier
Rough tier list of where I'd put every major model right now

I hadn't updated my global AGENTS.md since GPT 5.3 Codex and I felt those old instructions were affecting the quality of newer models. So I asked Codex to audit it using the OpenAI Docs skill and found a few rules that were more restrictive than helpful.

Inside the tech bubble, everyone talks about Sol, Sonnet, Fable, Grok... but outside of it, I'm surprised by how many people use Gemini for everyday things. Maybe being built into so many Google services explains it. Google might not need to win power users anymore when Gemini is already everywhere. I wonder if that's what they're going for.
