Dared my cousin Jay to write a ballad about “that old damn ball in the wall” for Game 6. He sent this 58 minutes later: Barger at the Bat Things weren’t looking brilliant for the Jays of blue and white; The team was down a couple runs—it was becoming a frightful night.

That old damn ball in the wall it killed our cheer, it stole our fun, it robbed the Jays of the tying run. It seemed a dirty trick—it certainly was no treat. An infield double is paltry fare for us upon our feet.
