Getting ready for our talk on functional programming #fptc Joint conference of the mathematics subject associations
Great to be at the Big Computing Leadership Conference working alongside #AQA
Enjoying setting up our Quest 3’s with Tim. Installed human anatomy vr software ready for our medic students to use.
Thanks @pimoroni - looking forwards to testing out the new Raspberry Pi.
Testing out a vivi box @ViviEducation to compare with ditto @TryDitto - screen sharing / digital signage with the idea to allow easy screen sharing from both staff and student devices
Have talked about this during my recent presentation for ATM @ATMMathematics great to see our STEM communication project gained this award.
We're thrilled to announce we won! 🏆🌟🌟🌟🌟
The Independent School of the Year 2023 Award for Outstanding New Initiative for our STEM Communication Programme! 🚀👨🔬
We're immensely proud and grateful to our amazing #STEM community! 🙏👏👏👏

Was great to present at the @ATMMathematics virtual conference discussing how mathematics can be seen in Computer Science NEA, EPQs and also our @natmatsci STEM commmnication project.
Really enjoying testing Python notebooks inside Teams as an assignment - and also setting a rubric for marking.
Can also put in quick plots to link ideas around data analysis for our mathematicians.
So student wants to build a sleep tracker…. So exploring ANT protocol and heart rate monitor. Always learning :-)
Thanks to @daveyweston for virtually training us today at @natmatsci on @edpuzzle - will continue to explore what this tool can offer in terms of encouraging our students to engage with video and enhance how they learn from it.
When you try to consider the question does year affect CO2 emission to find you big data only contains cars from 2002…. At least the students could answer the question ‘what does our plot show?’ Part of NatMatSci’s STEM communication program.
Student has purchased a lovely old IBM laptop to see if we can get working - Y2K compliant and great keyboard mechanism
Enjoying playing with some loan #Fortinet hardware as we consider changing our college setup.
Dr A testing the fun before students arrive @natmatsci @applebiol
Enjoying the delights of working at a small college - gone from sorting out new network infrastructure to looking after bouncy castles and BBQ for our last full day with NatMatSci students.
Looking forward to being involved in this research project - the energy from waste site had so much STEM going on… intelligently controlled grabbers (for moving waste), interesting chemistry controlling emissions, physics of power generation, economics of waste into power…
Proudly introducing Martyn Colliver and his project 'Linking STEM education to real-world industry for project based learning – a case study around an energy from waste (eFw) plant'. Coming from @natmatsci, Martyn is on the A-level Subject Practitioner Panel for @WeAreComputing
Enjoying working on @tryhackme - will get students working on it next term to build up their cybersecurity skills
Excited to have been accepted onto the Teacher Research Network from Warwick Uni. Looking to research into the benefits of linking our STEM education @NatMatSci with a local industrial partner ❤️real-world STEM❤️
