As an American Jew, I was raised on the standard Zionist indoctrination but I finally opened my eyes to the reality that much of the Jewish community refuses to acknowledge: 1/3

a Zionist asks Chomsky what he thinks about the statement that Israel should not exist, and whether he is horrified by it and thinks it's anti-Semitic and genocidal.
He responds: "Actually, I agree with that." And adds that Zionists are the actual genocidal ones.
- Israel is an apartheid regime and has been for 75 years.
- Israel is a country built on racism and stolen land.
- Israel is commiting genocide right now, right before our eyes, with US support. 2/3
Spent this afternoon at MIT. The schol admin notified students to exit the encampment by 2:30pm or be suspended. Right around the deadline, a sponteneous crowd numbering in the hundreds, possibly thousands, gathered and began an hours long protest. 1/4
A few hours later, students broke down one section of the barriers erected by campus police and streamed back into the camp, which was then rebuilt from scratch. There are now hundreds camping out in the re-established Free Palestine zone. 3/4
You can watch the MIT encampment live on this feed from the Associated Press: youtube.com/watch?v=NddONWA_…. Congrats to the MIT students for fighting for freedom and humanity and never giving up. The whole world is watching. Free Palestine! 4/4
I am yet another Jewish person demanding that Israel stop murdering innocent people. There are many of us and more are choosing to speak up every day.
#NotInMyName.
Jewish people have a disproportionately powerful role to play in denouncing Israel's behavior. We need every Jewish voice to tell Israel and America: "Not In My Name". Please consider speaking up and using the power of your voice to help stop this madness.
Read this whole sequence of six cartoons. It's so true.

Boycott Israel. Whether you're a business or a consumer, send a message that says you will have nothing to do with Israel's system of oppression, subjugation, humiliation, apartheid, and genocide.
Despite having a proper Jewish education in which we studied the history of Israel, it was only last year that I first heard the word Nakba. People didn't want me to know that word. It's a word pro-Israel people aren't proud of, for good reason, so they try to suppress it.

NYU faculty creating a ring around the Gaza solidarity encampment to protect their students after the school threatened mass arrest. So beautiful.
From 1975, when I was 15, this feels like a million years ago. If you find a more intense performer than this guy, let me know.
