Blaming Stephen Vogt alone is incredibly stupid. At some point your players have to make plays.
Jose Ramirez was a ghost after G1 (he just popped out again), Adell and Lowe had one-off moments but nothing sustainable and Rocchio might have played himself off the team this week.
I’m not sad, the series was over when they lost 2 out of 3 at home, and World Series caliber teams don’t do that.
I am, however, ready for some basketball now.
Go Cavs.
It’s time to clarify what wins in October. It’s not pitching, it’s *starting* pitching.
Four starters with 30+ starts, only six starters used all season and the Guardians completely abandoned what got them to October in the first place.
Someone has to answer for that.
I’ll never forgive Tito for the Yandy Diaz trade.
He was a good player, Tito just held a grudge and didn’t do what was best for the team by playing him every day.
No one, and I mean no one, loses three consecutive playoff games like the Cleveland baseball team.
You can change the name, the players, the manager, doesn’t matter.
This is who they are and what they do.
You can tell Bazzana wants to help and contribute so badly, he’s just way over his head right now.
To be expected for a rookie and it’s a good attitude to have, but he’s got to learn how to control it and I’m sure he will.
Joey Cantillo is scared of his own stuff.
It’s so good and he trusts absolutely none of it. He’s terrified of contact so he just nibbles all the time. I still don’t know if his future is as a starter.
Just a maddening pitcher.
I get it, man. He had a crappy September. But this Tanner Bibee thing is so confusing.
I’d trust him over Festa, Slade, Herrin and Cantillo pretty easily in most playoff situations and he’s the only pitcher on the staff that isn’t even being considered.
It’s so weird.
Watching the Guardians attempt to hit a single changeup is so demoralizing.
When they go out to Arizona next year, that’s the only thing they should work on, enough is enough.
I have absolutely nothing to base this off of because logic screams they lose, but I have a very slight gut feeling the Guardians pull this one out tonight.
Maybe it’s the fact they are weirdly good on the road, maybe it’s bc I want to believe in karma against Yandy Diaz, idk.
My fantasy team just doesn’t even exist anymore. Every player on it is basically dead.
Bad to worse: #Rams star WR Davante Adams, who sustained a hamstring injury in last night’s loss to the #AZCardinals, is out 6-10 weeks.
I’ve had enough of Jo Adell. Three months was enough.
He’s under contract for next season but I’m more than happy to trade him this winter. He’s not a winning player.
So here’s where I’m at with Tanner Bibee now.
Clearly the team doesn’t trust him, I’m not going to argue that. I wouldn’t advocate for him to start tonight. That being said, why is he on the ALCS roster at all?
We can celebrate the Browns today. We should celebrate the Browns today.
It doesn’t mean we hate the Guardians or are happy with the past two games, but we can absolutely celebrate the Browns today without being made to feel bad about it.
"Super Bowl..."
"I can't do it with what happened after the Browns game...I'm not gonna be fake."
🚨 @KenCarman and @SportsBoyTony on the reaction to the #Browns win and #Guardians loss on Sunday
There truly is something to the idea that Watson just needs his back against the wall somehow.
Early in the game, it feels sometimes he’s hesitant to throw because he’s trying to be safe. Fourth quarter comes around and the handbrake comes off. It’s fascinating.
