I’m super privileged to live in the footsteps of my father. Vuyisile Mbundu. A giant among us. After exile and a decade at Robben Island, he emerged as VIP protection lead for O.R. Tambo & later Walter Sisulu. Now if you don’t know what this means, it means he volunteered his life to take a bullet if it meant protecting our leaders and our future.
The man is my living legend. Still lives a humble life in Soweto. Never took a cent from public service outside his public service salary.
I remember in 2012 asking him during the tender feast. “Why are we not making money when your friends are billionaires?”. His response was: “Nkuli, I did not join the struggle to make money. I joined it to free my people.”
To this day my hero lives his truth. Therefore I live my truth. It actually comes from my grandmother to think about it.
Truth doesn’t translate into being broke and living in poverty in some kind of altruistic means or trying to scheme stolen money to look better than your peers.
Truth is being able to be your true self no matter what circumstances prevail so your soul serves its purpose.
As to what my life purpose is. I’m peeling the onion day by day…

I see folks saying in 5-years there will be a food shortage in South Africa; there is no evidence pointing to such an outlook. It seems misguided.

The opposite of racist isn't 'colourblind'.
The opposite of racist isn't 'non-racial'.
The opposite of racist isn't 'not racist'.
The opposite of racist is ANTI-RACIST. It is a verb. It is not neutral. It is not afraid of tension. It aims at, and is part of, racial justice.

Stop with this “First Nation” kak.
The anti-blackness in this movement is nauseating. The Khoi are black.

You cant be trusted with the blessing if you can’t handle the persecution. Every blessing comes with persecution. With great favour comes skilled & determined detractors. With abundance comes opposition. Remain focussed & keep doing the work that needs to be done. You’re winning

With which funding? The R350 that started the ice cream store?
It will be easy for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it will be for a small business to get any form of assistance from the government in SA.

If someone who earns 10k gives you R500, he would have given you 5% of his salary. It means that he woke up two days in a month, had his bath and went to work just for you. Learn this Math, know it, it will help you to be grateful. Stop feeling entitled. Be grateful.
