Our SynthID technology lets you easily verify if an image, video, or audio file is AI-generated, and today we’re expanding access.
Now anyone can go to synthid.com to check files for a SynthID watermark — whether they were generated by us or industry partners like @OpenAI, @nvidia, Kakao, and, coming soon, @Apple.
To date, we’ve watermarked 180 billion images and videos and more than 240,000 years of audio content, regularly handling 1 million verification requests daily.
This new portal joins our built-in verification features already live in Search, @GeminiApp, and @googlechrome.
It was great to welcome organizations such as @AspenFSP , @aarp, @ncl_tweets , as well as representatives from across the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government for this week’s cross-stakeholder dialogue on combating online scams and fraud. It was also a pleasure to welcome @JudgeJeanine to Google DC, where we kicked off a cross-stakeholder dialogue on combating online scams and fraud. Judge Pirro spoke about her meaningful work leading the U.S. government’s Scams Center Strike Force in protecting Americans from global organized crime rings. Conversations ranged from building on existing public-private partnerships in coordinating work and information sharing, highlighting our industry-leading Safer with Google technological innovations to protect consumers, and our support for bipartisan legislation like the National Strategy for Combating Scams Act and the GUARD Act, which would unify federal and state anti-fraud efforts under a single coordinated strategy.
And it was great to have representatives from the FBI in the room, with whom our legal team coordinated last week when we filed a lawsuit to dismantle the infrastructure of an AI-powered cybercrime operation known as the “Outsider Enterprise” that distributes “phsishing kits” that allow criminals to blast out fake text campaigns that look like they’re from Google and other brands.

I want to commend Chairman Ko and the PIPC of Korea on the recent Guideline on Processing Publicly Available Data for AI Development and Services, which offers a sound set of guidelines and further affirms Korea's AI policy leadership.

Publicly available data is at the core of how AI models are trained. It is key to model quality and functionality. We recently published a paper on Generative AI & privacy, which addresses publicly available data in AI model training as well 📷 shorturl.at/BlCOv

As AI advances during a global tech competition, it’s important that the public & private sectors work together on responsible regulation. That’s why we’re encouraged the Senate Commerce Committee is considering AI legislation this week. The bills we support include:
Great speaking with @Domanski_Andrz this week about our partnership with Poland and the country's ecosystem and position as a technological leader in the region, as well as chatting about AI and the potential of the digital economy.
Looking forward to discussing the opportunities and challenges of AI technologies with @Amb_ArunKSingh, including a discussion of emerging regulatory options. Important to get this right.

Today's #EO implementing the EU-US data privacy framework is an important milestone for the #Transatlantic relationship. It allows the EU and US to continue working together and advance shared values of trust and openness.
We welcome this #ExecutiveOrder and appreciate the efforts of USG and @EU_Commission to protect people's data on both sides of the Atlantic. While we're still assessing the details of these reforms, today's announcement is a crucial step forward. #DPF whitehouse.gov/briefing-room…

We have long advocated for comprehensive federal privacy legislation and are pleased by progress towards a law this year. Google will continue to support these efforts -- and we hope all parties come together to deliver the nationwide privacy protections Americans deserve.

no, "no ambiguities" is not a realistic goal, but it should not be as hopelessly ambiguous as this bill is about very fundamental issues. It took 80 years of Clayton Act litigation to give coherence to "substantially lessen competition" -- an unbelievable waste of resources.
