Thank you, Alberta! I’m very pleased to see the initial results from Elections Alberta show widespread support for remaining in Canada. Albertans have voted for a stronger Alberta in a united Canada. Thank you to all Albertans who took time to vote on these critically important referendum questions.   Tomorrow evening, October 20, I will address Albertans live at 6:45 p.m. to discuss the results of all referendum questions for which results are available, and where our province goes from here.

I think Albertans are extremely prepared to put an end to this incredibly embarrassing chapter in our shared political history.

My polling in Alberta and my visit to the province last month reaffirmed this conclusion. Albertans have been asked a question it did not want by a government it does not trust to answer it, about a country it is not prepared to give up, in the shadow of a neighbour it does not trust at all.

> Voted by mail > Complains about not being able to vote again Many such cases
WELL, WELL, WELL. I WAS REFUSED BALLOTS TODAY AT MY POLLING STATION IN #EDMONTONWHITEMUD!! I had received mail-in ballots. I used the mail-in ballot for Question 10 bc I was certain how I would vote and was unsure if I would be able to get to the poll today so I wanted to make sure I got my vote in for #10. I did not even consider that I would not be allowed to vote on the other 9 Questions given that they were all separate ballots. My right to vote is my sacred democratic Right! After the weekend and listening to Mark Carney I decided to change my plans and make a special effort to get to the polls today to Vote on 1 to 9. Unfortunately it is impossible to resolve this problem today unless Elections Alberta steps up. They know who I am - I registered at the poll today. They can reach out to me. I hope they do. Because as of now I have been denied my right to vote.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
OP right to vote was not denied. OP failed to read the instructions. “Once your special ballot is received and the content verified, you will be marked as voted and struck from the voters list” elections.ab.ca/current-electi…

I’m not sure the separatists have thought through how many votes they’d lose if reading comprehension became a requirement.
As an Albertan if you can’t read the questions written in clear English then you should not be allowed to vote!

Stories of people who are just finding out today that their special ballot vote wasnt registered. Go back to your original elections Alberta email when you applied for the special ballot. Unless you see this in your return email link from elections Alberta, you did not vote.

Great strategy. I fully endorse it. Please continue to annoy regular Albertans as much as humanly possible. Show them all who you are. The more successful you are at that the less that will vote option 2 and the better chance there is that you will be relegated back to being a fringe movement.
ALBERTA!! The next Edmonton Oilers home game is Thursday, October 15, 2026 - If you are able to attend and bring the flag of Alberta with you, please do. The Communists are trying to tell you that you can't have YOUR flag at YOUR hockey game. TELL THEM IT'S YOUR RIGHT TO WAVE THE FLAG OF ALBERTA AT AN ALBERTA HOCKEY GAME!!! WAVE IT HIGH & PROUD!!!

I’d like to introduce you to my freedom-loving, independent-thinking, risk-taking cat. Meet Riker. Riker is convinced he is an outside cat, despite everyone else in the household reaching a very different conclusion. He refuses to simply follow the crowd. Riker is also quite willing to accept the risks associated with pursuing his freedom. This is made considerably easier by the fact that he has absolutely no ability to assess those risks. He doesn’t understand traffic. He doesn’t know that there are coyotes in the neighbourhood. He has given no consideration to where his next meal will come from, whether the neighbours will provide shelter, or what happens when it is -30°C. None of these unanswered questions has diminished his commitment to independence. In Riker’s mind, the door is simply an artificial constraint standing between him and the freedom he deserves. Riker is therefore both an independent thinker and a risk taker. Unfortunately, neither of those things tells us whether his thinking is correct, coherent or particularly intelligent. His willingness to accept risk tells us even less when he doesn’t understand the risks he is accepting. This does not make Riker a bad cat. He’s actually a very good cat. It does make him ungovernable and spectacularly unqualified to govern anyone else. Riker does not get to make important decisions. Don’t be like Riker. #AbPoli #AlbertaPolitics #Alberta #AlbertaReferendum #AlbertaSeparation #ABLeg

As an Alberta MP you should probably know we are the only G7 country without a strategic oil reserve because we are the only G7 nation that is a net exporter of crude. National strategic reserves are maintained to meet an obligation to the IEA to hold 90 days of net imports on hand. That obligation for Canada is zero barrels. There is ~95 million barrels of private storage in Canada. Strategic reserves protect importers from supply disruption, not cost. Product released from reserves still generally enters the market at the global price. To truly get the price down, we need to resolve global challenges with supply and refining capacity. We’re keeping prices down in Canada by pausing the excise tax on gas, giving a groceries and essentials benefit to those who need it most, and working with provinces and companies to increase global supply, alleviating upward pressure.
Why doesn’t Canada profit from releasing oil and diesel from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve? Because we are the only G7 with no reserve. Our Conservative plan changes that. Build a strategic reserve to profit Canada, boost our dollar, lower fuel prices, and make us more independent: conservative.ca/cpc/emergenc…

Anti-Canada accounts are hilarious, especially when they all pretend to be from Alberta. You’d think the whole province is doing so bad that millions all simultaneously lost their jobs since Carney became PM and then all got sent MAID letters while waiting for 6 years at ER.

If you need another reason to be happy that Poilievre is not Prime Minister. He's gullible enough to believe this story too
The family of an 83-year-old grandmother battling cancer says she was given MAID against her will. This is disgusting. We have a sworn duty to protect the most vulnerable. This story demands action. The Liberal government must strengthen and enforce safeguards to protect vulnerable Canadians from pressure and abuse.

Art of the Deal is buying fertilizer from a Putin-aligned repressive dictator and paying to ship it 6,000 miles from his landlocked and sanctioned country so you can teach Canada a lesson.

A few days ago people screeched that: “Canada couldn’t get offered a great deal as associate membership wasn’t a thing” Today the EU announced they’d like to explore that offer. AND, I’ve got the rough motivator terms that both sides are looking at for the deal: As I said Article 217 TFEU, allows the EU to make any “association agreement” it wants. In-session discussions of Article 217 have noted that this can be up to “new classes of membership” that “do not compel the regular membership requirements” So while previous AA agreements were not memberships, one for Canada could be offered. The EU wants: 1) A stable trade partner with natural resources. 2) To enact the free trade that’s been blocked by some member states who didn’t ratify CETA. 3) To develop new manufacturing suppliers as EU space is tapped out and they don’t want to depend on China. 4) Defence manufacturing providers that are not US based. 5) Arctic stability and surveillance. 6) Accelerated tourist visa waivers for EU tourists, and accelerated review for EU skilled immigration (not open border) 7) European companies having access to Canadian markets and exchange listings as if they were Canadian. 8) Accelerated review of EU food and medical products by Health Canada for approved access to the Canadian market. 9) Canada’s development banks to be able to access and own projects in the EU that it deems inline with its investment mandate. 10) EU pension funds and wealth funds to be able to invest in Canada with preferred tax rules. Canada would get: 1) Free movement for Canadian’s to live and work in the EU. 2) The right for Canadian companies to sell to EU government procurement as if they were European. 3) The right for Canadian defence providers to provide services to EU governments and militaries including in classified settings. 4) Free trade with Europe. 5) Canadian financial institutions having access to SEPA and other European transfer networks, improving Canadian banking competition. 6) The ability for Canadians and Canadian companies to sell to Europeans or invest in Europe without foreign buyer taxes. 7) Canadian products being eligible for EU tax credit rebates when sold in the EU. 8) The ability for Canadian companies to manufacture in Europe without repatriation tariffs. All **WITHOUT**: -Open borders in Canada -Adopting the Euro -Being bound by the EU commission -Adopting Brussels oversight or policy Now this is the starting point for each of the sides, the negotiations may water down or remove some points, or introduce new asks. But both sides want very different things, that are *hugely* beneficial to both. Yet Canada clearly comes out on top of this deal because they have the valuable primary industry that Europe needs and so would get potentially the lightest requirement offer that Europe has ever put forth. While the EU seems to have acknowledged that because of the difference in scale, they can’t expect Canada to have fully open borders, or markets. If Carney lands this plane, it would be historic.
Canada has been invited to become the first associate member of the EU, Ursula von der Leyen has announced. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

It’s interesting to hear the @Alberta_UCP and its supporters pointing fingers at everyone except themselves. They claim to oppose splitting the vote, yet they are willing to entertain splitting up the country. This is not a conservative government: not fiscally and certainly not in its approach to limited government. As it accumulates more power, we have seen freedoms eroded, transparency reduced, corruption concealed and the fabric of our society pulled apart. That is not conservatism - it’s populism. If the UCP wants to do something genuinely conservative, it should start by taking personal responsibility and look within, acknowledge their failures and make meaningful change. So far, they haven’t got the message. #abpoli #abtory #alberta #canada #ucp #ableg
What happens on October 20th? That may be the most important question before voting in the referendum. Because this isn't simply about the questions. It's about what the government intends to do with the answers. The UCP has moved away from unpopular battles over the CPP and RCMP and shifted the fight to immigration, justice, elections and federal-provincial powers. A favourable result gives them what they want: A new mandate to confront Ottawa and claim Albertans endorsed the fight. That's why this debate doesn't end on October 19. We could find ourselves voting again on separation while affordability, health care, education and our economy go unfixed. We deserve a government focused on results - not distractions. Less time picking fights. More time improving our lives. #abtory #abpoli #ableg #Alberta #Referendum #GoodGovernment #UCP

Rick Bell reporting that the U of C School of Public Policy has finished its report on cost Alberta separation with two key scenarios. Best case? GDP and wages grow a bit after 20 years, with debt hitting $324B. Worst case? Wages down $5,500 short-term, $12,000 long-term with massive annual deficit. calgaryherald.com/opinion/co…
