if anyone wants to see the full 40+ minute match where a 62 year old Ho Des Minh takes the craziest bump of the weekend, Hasegawa is selling it for 1100 yen
late stage contender for bump of the year just dropped

to all the people that have searched up my fishman jr gifs to like them and leave "oh.. the horrors..." comments i think you should donate your brains to science when you die so doctors can finally figure out what exactly went wrong there

not sure if im more taken aback by tracking down gifs of a guy that just got arrested for murder or the incredibly unfunny replies you've tacked onto that

have thought about this a lot - dojo system is make-or-break - heavy focus on basics even up to the 80s - until the 00s being a wrestler was practically always a full-time commitment (i also dont think theyve always been “so much better” but theres certainly a higher floor)
Does anyone have a working theory on why the Japanese are so much better than everyone else at pro wrestling? My undeveloped idea is their absolute commitment to the underlying concept. Even the silly stuff shows an unwavering commitment to the bit.

my most unwoke opinion is that there’s some merit to the old school “beat them until they understand” ideology lots of the dojos had and that returning to that would probably lead to workrate improving across the board (i don’t recommend this for obvious reasons)

people who weren't there will never know how surreal it was to watch the never-before-seen hayabusa revival gauntlet from what i believe was a cancelled DVD release of the show (the match was just sorta alright but this spot was cool)

there's a strong case to be made that ono & usuda's interactions in this match outshine the ikeda/ishikawa ones
bruh this is perfect
