After almost two years at Stedi, I was impacted in a round of layoffs today. I'm grateful for the chance to work with such an exceptional team, and proud of the great things we've shipped.
I'm actively looking for my next opportunity – get in touch!
Been a wild year and a half at Stedi, but I was unfortunately caught up in layoffs yesterday.
It's been _such_ a privilege to learn from people at the top of their game, all over the world. 🙇♀️
Aucklanders, is there a nice cafe in the CBD I can work for a few hours before my flight? Also interested in breakfast/coffee of course 👀
Helped out with some mock interviews for @summeroftech tonight. Kinda nice not having an ulterior hiring motive tbh, I think it made the students more relaxed and hopefully made it more fun.
Forgot how much junior talent work can fill my cup. 🤩

Even all manner of “chaos” experiments bake in all sorts of assumptions, that no one really prepares for this scenario.
After Facebook gets network back up I expect a long period of instability. Rebooting a distributed system of this size is hard. They will have cold caches and systems that need other systems to bootstrap. #hugops
I've never collaborated across big timezone differences. Last month I joined a team where I'm in NZ and they're all in the Americas. It's been super fun putting theory into practice! 🌏
Here's four things that have helped me in the last four weeks! 1/6
4. 👯 Both parties should experiment and compromise.
I can be a people pleaser: I was the odd one out, so it was "better" if I eg started earlier. A teammate insisted they could work around me too - and it helped.
Try things. Talk about it. Walk it back if it doesn't work. 5/6
