I had the opportunity to meet this young woman last night. She proudly shared that she's been sober for 5 mths! We've gone from 144 overdoses to 57 this year. We have the lowest per capita overdoses in PA. Too many. Let's get that number to zero while celebrating recovery.

It was a blast having my students from Lincoln University of PA in West Chester. They got to meet and ask questions of judges, the Chester County District Attorney, the Public Defender, and many more leaders. Most of the students are members of the Thurgood Marshall Law Society.

I'm incredibly proud. This headline says a lot, but it's not the whole story. Yesterday, Chester County took an important and emotional step to codify protections for veterans, people of faith, gender, race, and sexuality.

Some of these protections are already in place in various federal and state laws; now they're all consolidated here locally, making them more accessible. Additionally, we added protections for survivors of sexual and domestic abuse.

This new ordinance does a lot on a small budget, just $500. It's worth it. Chester County should be a place where everyone is welcome and loved.
