MN Dem Senate candidate's viral hijab video takes new turn as woman beside her faces major state investigation.
Nimco Ahmed stood beside Peggy Flanagan during the viral December video defending Minnesota’s Somali community. Now the autism center Ahmed operates is under an open Minnesota DHS investigation, along with another provider.
The state says both providers were terminated from Medicaid through its 2026 revalidation process, and both have appealed. Ahmed denies allegations about inadequate oversight and maintains her center complies with state requirements.
The investigation is drawing renewed attention to Minnesota’s fraud controversies and Flanagan, who has served as lieutenant governor since 2019.

Why is Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey meeting with Foreign Agents, has links to an al-Shabaab leader.
Mayor Jacob Frey, rapper Ilkacase Qays, Mohamed Kahin, Kenyan businessman Oketch Salah, and Somalian Foreign Agent - Mahmoud Omar Isse (Xiirrey) — the so-called “Governor of Minnesota” for Khaatumo, Somalia.
Isse is the Khaatumo/Northeast State's senior representative in the United States. Isse regularly promotes Abdi Madobe, who the United Nations reports is a al-Shabaab Commander in the Northeast State. Madobe is also a General for the Khaatumo/Northeast State militia.
So why is the mayor of a major American city with all of these foreign representatives to announce July 3rd 2026 is Ilkacase Qays day in Minneapolis. He's a Somali rapper with a Kenyan business man, and at least one Somali Agent.
Who arranged this meeting? Who vetted the participants? What was discussed—and what business does Minneapolis City Hall have engaging a representative of with foreign nationals and an al-shabaab supporter.
