Tokyo evening rush hour very quiet. But calm. No traffic jams. Many people must have left. Train services reduced to save power.

Main highway Niigata to Tokyo flowing free. More tankers and supply trucks heading north. Miserable icy rain. Team asleep in car.
Traveling Sendai to Tokyo. Been lucky with fuel. Filled up but still passing closed petrol stations and long queues.
