Can’t believe that this silly podcast that Sam and I started out of a few reddit posts has passed 500 episodes. If you’ve ever listened to any episode, thank you!
And special shout out to @maxmcc11, @theIVpointplay, @KellanOlson, and @GeraldBourguet for joining so much!
People keep saying this about the Suns trading an unprotected 2033 pick for Miles Bridges. It misses the point. The pick has a ton of value. The Suns could include it in a trade for something much better than Miles Bridges sometime in the next 7 years. It’s bad asset management.
Replying to @maxmcc11
Coming back to this tweet in the summer of 2033 to see how we feel about the pick when it’s made.
This is fine. Needed to replace the shooting we lost trading Grayson and Royce. Just wish we could replace the pick.
Free agent sharpshooter Luke Kennard has agreed to a two-year, $13 million deal with the Phoenix Suns, with a player option for the second season, sources tell ESPN.
Including an unprotected 2033 first in this trade is an objectively terrible decision by the Suns.
The Suns acquire a starting PF at 28 years old in Bridges -- whom they've targeted in recent years -- plus a 2029 less favorable first-rounder and a 2027 less favorable second rounder while getting $20 million in tax savings while opening up a roster spot ahead of free agency.
Charlotte picks up two playoff-tested role players and receives a valuable further out, unprotected Suns first-round pick.

🚨 NEW OFFSEASON POD 🚨
@GeraldBourguet and @maxmcc11 gave their thoughts on building around Devin Booker, continuity vs. big swings, what Phoenix should do with their 3 key free agents, whether the main trio fits and more takeaways from exit interviews! bit.ly/4tQ5PSo
This is the perfect message. Not even the most diehard Suns fan thinks we should've won G2. We know we'll be lucky to win once this series. It just sucks to watch the crappy product that the NBA allows OKC and refs to create. Let OKC beat us at basketball, not rule exploitation.
I am 100% behind Devin Booker here. Last night was not a good look for our league. Let me be clear, we didn’t lose because of officiating, but that doesn’t make last night any less important. If the referees are going to demand respect from the players - as they should - then the players should demand respect from the referees. When a referee is missing calls and clearly disrespecting the players, almost mocking them, they must be held accountable. Nobody who loves this game enjoyed watching that last night. They want to see the players compete at the highest level. The league needs be far more aggressive about this kind of thing. All players and all fans deserve it.
Of course, Adam Silver will respond by fining Booker, not by addressing the underlying problem that NBA players/coaches/fans constantly cite.
“You really think Silver cheats for OKC, a tiny market?” No, this isn’t corruption. It’s Silver and his team’s utter incompetence.
Whoa.... Devin Booker just WENT OFF on the NBA refs right now in the post game press conference:
"It's definitely something that has to be looked at. I heard (Alex) Caruso tell them to call the tech and he ended up doing it. In my 11 years, I haven't called a ref out by name, but James (Williams) was terrible tonight, through and through. It's bad for the sport, bad for the integrity of the sport. People are going to start viewing this as the WWE if they're not held responsible."
"I know I haven't won a championship in this league but I have been in it for 11 years now, so to get to this point to be treated like that, for me to even be saying something out loud, it's bad. It's my first time in 11 years but it's needed. Whatever, I get fined for it, everybody can pull the clips and see where the frustration comes from."
None of this matters because @NateDuncanNBA thinks Devin Booker has played little part in the Suns’ success this year.
