The Czech’s comment is why the UK returning to the EU will ultimately happen very quickly if the British want it - Britain’s return reduces everyone’s EU budget contributions by billions due to the size of our economy.
🚨🇪🇺 NEW: Various EU leaders say they would welcome Britain rejoining the EU Here’s what they said: 🇨🇿 Czechia’s Prime Minister Andrej Babiš: “Yes, of course, we need more money” 🇸🇮 Slovenia’s Prime Minister Janez Janša: “The UK leaving was one of the biggest catastrophes for the EU in the entire time of its existence” 🇨🇾 Cyprus’ President Nikos Christodoulides: “If Britain is ready to come back, we are ready to welcome them” 🇱🇻 Latvia’s Prime Minister: “I think Britain should come back to the family” 🇪🇸 Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez: “I applaud it, we are better united” 🇧🇬 Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Rumen Radev: “Of course, but this time UK must learn its lesson” 🇩🇰 Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen: “Of course, always” 🇱🇹 Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda: “Yes, absolutely” 🇭🇷 Croatia’s Prime Minister Andrej Plenković: “Are they keen to come back?” 🇪🇺 EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas: “Of course, all our friends are welcome to join” 🇳🇱 Netherlands’ Prime Minister Rob Jetten: “In the end, it’s up to the British people to decide what that relationship looks like” [@SkyNews]

I wish to yet again point out that the South Koreans manage to build a nuclear power plant every FIVE years at 20% of the cost of Hinkley C. Nuclear power is cheap, WE alone make it expensive
We pay more than £200 million to this organisation to make our lives worse. They have blocked homes, kite festivals, put millions onto the cost of our infrastructure, and found loopholes in laws to block new homes & make life even harder for young people. We are talking about "Natural" England. They are completely unelected and completely unaccountable We’ve prepared some of their most rational moments for you to enjoy. 1️⃣ Made Hinkley Point C even more expensive by forcing a £700 MILLION "fish disco". This will save... one salmon... every decade. ➡️ If we don't have secure energy, Britain is at risk of blackouts. 2️⃣ Blocked a kite festival for charity because some grass might need to be mowed. The event had to be shut down after more than 30 years. ➡️ The only other government organisation to ban kite flying… The Taliban. 3️⃣ Shut down a paintballing centre because of "ground compaction". In other words, people walked on the land. ➡️ This was so despicable that Natural England deemed it acceptable to take this family-run business to court. The owners have spent more than £50,000 on their legal defence. 4️⃣ Designated part of the M25 as an "area of outstanding natural beauty". ➡️ Natural England has the power to designate land as an area of outstanding natural beauty. They’ve chosen the M25. Maybe the yellow emergency area looks stunning in summer. 5️⃣ Found loopholes to laws passed by our democratically elected government. ➡️ New planning rules mean that houses within 500 metres of a train station are more likely to be approved. So Natural England is designating areas just outside train stations as of "outstanding" natural beauty. No homes can be built here. 6️⃣  Blocked 27,000 jobs at a London theme park to protect… spiders. ➡️ Plans included what would have been the largest indoor water park in Europe. We could continue. Natural England is a very odd organisation, but one thing is clear. We do not need to deal with this. The Government can and must ABOLISH them. It has gone on for too long. NO more Natural England. Now, we need your help. Write to your local MP and tell them to ABOLISH NATURAL ENGLAND ⬇️

I am quite upset about some of the things that are going on in Europe. I've tried to keep a sober tone below. The first time I wrote it, it had some f*** off's in it. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark Copenhagen Central Station. The heart of our capital, 100 meters from Tivoli. Almost every Dane has walked through this hall at some point. I’ve lived in Asia for almost 20 years, so I see Denmark a bit from the outside these days. And some of what I see makes me shake my head. Right now the station is full of Danish flags, and apparently that’s a problem. Too nationalistic, some say. Too many Christian crosses, others say. Seriously? The Dannebrog has had a cross on it for 800 years. Denmark is a Christian country with a Christian flag. We fly it on birthdays, at Christmas, at weddings, at the airport when family comes home. It’s not aimed at anyone. It’s simply who we are. Now look at where I live. In Thailand the national anthem plays every day at 8 in the morning and 6 in the evening. In train stations, parks and markets, people stop and stand still until it’s over. Before every movie in the cinema, everyone stands for the royal anthem. The Thai flag hangs on every government building, every school, and on countless homes and shops. And you know what? Nobody complains. Not the Thais, and not the millions of foreigners who live here. We stand up with everyone else, because it’s their country and we respect that. If a foreigner here demanded fewer flags because they felt too nationalistic, he would be laughed out of the room. And rightly so. So why is this even a debate in Denmark? Why should Danes have to apologize for their own flag in their own capital? To those who complain, the answer should be short. This is Denmark. The flags stay. If that bothers you, that’s your problem, not ours.

You pay for this with your taxes. Natural England has done something unusual. They’ve actually allowed homes to be built. But… they have banned the elderly residents living there from… having cats. Yes, you did read that correctly. If you own a home on View Road in Medway, you are BANNED from having cats. Why? Because Natural England said so. Natural England is a completely unelected, and a completely unaccountable body. People will come up with complicated reasons as to why this is acceptable. It is not. An undemocratic body should NEVER be able to dictate if your grandparents can have pets. We think the answer is simple, and overdue. We need to abolish them. Why does Natural England think they can control lives like this?

This is why we can’t get anything done. The average age a young person buys their first home is 34. Natural England is blocking new homes from being built NEXT to a train station. Every 30 minutes a train leaves for Central London in Woldingham. You might be thinking “don’t new planning rules allow housebuilding within 500 metres of a train station?” You are *supposed* to be correct. But… Natural England hates giving young people a shot in life. So, they’ve come up with a loophole. They are now designating areas outside train stations as having “outstanding natural beauty" Now NO homes can be built here. We could abolish Natural England tomorrow and be done with this for GOOD. So, do you agree?

I couldn't disagree more with this post. From what I've seen, Yorkshire Wildlife Park appears to have done an incredible job today in an almost impossible situation. If someone chooses to climb into an enclosure with an apex predator, the consequences can be fatal within seconds. It sounds like the team reacted quickly, with reports of shots being fired. If those were warning shots intended to move the tiger away rather than kill it, that was an extraordinary outcome in such difficult circumstances. It's absolutely tragic that a man has reportedly lost his life today, but the tiger was simply behaving like a tiger. An animal shouldn't have to pay with its life because a human decides to enter its enclosure. I'm incredibly relieved the tiger appears to have survived.
Regardless of cause, the tiger should have been shot immediately, well within the time of this video.

Exclusive: There’s frustration in government with Andrew Bailey, the governor of the Bank of England, after he unexpectedly issued what’s being described as a Liz Truss warning On Thursday he said that any significant increase in spending to cushion the impact of a cost of living crisis risked losing market confidence, feeding back into higher borrowing costs and higher levels of government debt It was ultimately, he suggested, unsustainable. While he did not mention the budget in just under three weeks, his intervention was seen in government as a very unwelcome shot across the bows “Andrew Bailey needs to focus on doing his job,” a government source said. “The Bank of England has an important role to play in keeping inflation under control and supporting economic stability, but it is not the governor’s job to play politics or pile pressure on the government. He should focus on his responsibilities and leave the civil service to get on with delivering” Part of the anger in the government over Bailey’s intervention was the fact that ministers are under no illusions — the cost of living package in the budget on October 28 is expected to be modest at best, and even that will require difficult decisions thetimes.com/article/40db6b3…

This young man is passionate and articulate, but has been told at every turn that wealth cannot be earned. I want a Scotland where wealth is no longer a dirty word - because passion for enterprise and industry pays.

I’m sorry, the children of lazy bastard parents should not be allowed to be enrolled at school if they aren’t toilet trained. Unless there is a medical issue this is a huge parenting failure that the state should not be picking up
Twenty local authorities across England have signed up to launch schemes to tackle the number of pupils starting school without being fully toilet-trained. On #BBCBreakfast Kate McGough explained that York city council has seen huge success giving parents potty training guides with their first school offers bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ck4g…

Literally no one has realised this but the 2017 Tory manifesto actually committed to replacing the pensions triple lock with a double lock. This never happened because the DUP confidence and supply agreement committed to dropping the pledge. So Andy Burnham has received a lot of praise this week from the Labour Party for *two* ideas he and his party vociferously campaigned against in 2017, to defeat Theresa May’s pensions spending restraint and social care reform… and make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister. lol.

Burnham must be totally insane. No one under the age of 55 can even imagine a 3-day week. An IMF bailout. Inflation at 26% No one under 50 can imagine bodies going unburied. The 1970s is remembered by many as the grimmest decade in modern British history: a toxic combination of economic collapse, crumbling infrastructure, political instability, and social unrest. And Burnham wants to take us back there.
'Everything in Britain was great until the 1980s when it suddenly went to shit' remains an utterly baffling narrative on every single level.

Andy Burnham seems to remember a different 1970s to the rest of us. Britain in 1979 was utterly broken - ravaged by unaccountable trade union power, economically stagnant, the sick man of Europe. The 1980s saw a remarkable national recovery based on free enterprise, the rule of law and championing Western values. And it is this that our Prime Minister rails against…

What on earth is Andy Burnham talking about? Talking about the “common wealth Labour created” until the 1980s came along. Andy forgot to say that under Labour PM Sunny Jim Callaghan, exactly 50 years ago, the IMF had to come in and bail out the UK from the debt created under Labour! There was no “common wealth” created by Labour - just astronomical debt! History is repeating itself.
