I think crypto founders’ lack of long-term ambition did more to erode this industry’s talent density than we admit. Crypto is fundamentally trust infrastructure. Building something that meaningfully improves the financial system is a (long) compounding game. It takes a decade of focus. But when prices go crazy every year, there are endless ways to make stupid money: speculation, advisory gigs, scattered investments, farming. It’s been very easy to get distracted. The good news: it’s gotten SO MUCH better. Many short-sighted founders and projects have moved on. Tangible impact attracts the best people. And we’re finally seeing concrete improvements in payments, financing, and trading from bringing them onchain. As an industry, we should do more to make those improvements visible. Our “ChatGPT moment” will come when people open their financial app and feel a step change in what they can do and at what price, without needing to know that stablecoins, DeFi, or tokenized stocks made it possible. I think we’re close. That’s what will drive the next wave of adoption, and make the most ambitious people want to build here.

JUST IN: Hex Trust taps Flare for $USDX reserves verification The system uses Flare’s Confidential Compute on Songbird to check private and public reserves against USDX supply, publishing a signed result that confirms whether the stablecoin is backed 1:1 or more.

When you combine the Flare Data Connector oracle with Flare Confidential Compute to trigger private compute on data based upon onchain/offchain outcomes, the capture starts to become very interesting for FIRE. Get in touch if you're looking to start making use of Flare's stack.
$FLR powers the system. Activity feeds it. See is compound in FIRE. 🔗 dune.com/flare/fire

As its Alt SZN (TM) I wanted to recapitulate the Flare offering. • Flare is the only major L1 with a built in data. • That data is used to power onchain markets and interoperability with tokens like XRP and Bitcoin which have historically been massively underutilised. The utility just from this is huge - Firelight, the entire DeFi ecosystem in Flare, Flare smart accounts etc. This is where we are today but the best is yet to come… read on • Those same data capabilities are being used to assure a verifiable compute layer that sits above Flare. • Verifiable compute lets you run huge programs (example - a whole LLM) privately and with sufficient security to use the results onchain. The use cases for the combination of Flare’s data, interoperability and compute are manyfold: Protocol managed wallets which let a decentralised application on Flare take actions on any chain. Autonomous crypto or RWA portfolio creation & management. Private data streams that can interact with applications - so a public app can use data that can’t be exposed publicly but a user can be certain that the data came from the correct source. Applications built directly on chains like XRP (with baked in privacy). Private equity or perps markets. Privacy tooling that can be applied to other markets. Private and verifiable agents. These are just a few of the ones that appeal to me. Everything feeds revenue into FIRE - the Flare mechanism for buying back the FLR token. We are ALL early.
A short list of apps that could be built on top of FCC: • Private orderbooks, RFQ systems and dark pools • Confidential lending, credit and underwriting • Payroll, treasury and private institutional settlement • Parametric insurance and private prediction markets • Agents that hold API keys, policies or signing authority • External-chain wallets controlled by Flare logic • Automated rebalancing, market making and treasury execution • Private Web2 data pulls and custom attestations • KYC-gated apps with selective disclosure • Shielded balances and private transfers • Proprietary trading or risk models • Heavy offchain computation with only the result posted onchain • Randomness and specialized oracle services • Apps that need secrets without falling back to a trusted backend We have a lot of work to do. ☀️

Honestly, that's a very creative and impressive XRP unlock! Flare acts as an extended arm for the XRP Ledger here. Deposit XRP on XRPL -> Flare FXRP -> Borrows RLUSD on Morpho -> Receive RLUSD on XRPL in your wallet. All that without new accounts or wallets. Even more bullish on Permission Delegation now which is a important piece to make it happen.
I really want to enable users to borrow RLUSD against their XRP directly from the XRP ledger (using Flare smart accounts) AND receive their borrowed RLUSD ON the XRP ledger. In order for that to happen I need the Wormhole RLUSD bridge to be up. For that to happen I need XRP validators to approve: xrpscan.com/amendment/Permis…

One of the things history teaches us is when there is a capable, determined, driven, smart and ruthless leader driving something forward, they tend to succeed. Get in a room with Hugo Philion. Look him straight in the eyes. You'll see what that looks like. Flare.

If you like what Flare can do with XRPL now you will love what will be possible with the FCC. How about building a fully decentralised neobank directly on the XRPL? No bridges no complexity.

Bitstamp Europe has taken FLR through the MiCA disclosure and admission-to-trading framework, with Luxembourg as the home state and 29 additional EU/EEA countries listed as host markets. This gives FLR a much clearer regulatory distribution path across Europe through a major regulated exchange. This is happening at the same time that Flare’s economic model is changing: FlareDrops have ended, while FIP.16 targets a reduction in annual inflation from 5% to 3%, lowers the annual cap from 5B to 3B FLR, and introduces a modest increase in fees. European access is becoming more structured as FLR moves into a more mature post-distribution economic phase.
I’ll be busy for the next couple of hours reading through this. I’ll circle back with some thoughts later.

Almost 25% of circulating FLR is staked to network validators. This is a significant milestone for @FlareNetworks. Next stop 33%. Then 50%. Learn more on how to stake FLR here: portal.flare.network/staking
Since the announcement of FIP.16 the staked amount has gone from 11B to 20B. Stronger validators, stronger data, stronger network. FDC fees accrued in FIRE are the next step - everything is aligned and pointing in the correct direction and fuelling the flywheel. Next step - P-chain staking eclipses WFLR delegation.

This is something we have been working towards for a while. A lending market for RLUSD collateralised by FXRP, curated by one of the most trusted institutional curators in the industry @SentoraHQ. This opens the door for much larger FXRP lending markets and for institutions that holds Billions of XRP to participate. Good for XRP. Good for RLUSD. Good for Flare.
XRP now has institutional credit rails on Ethereum mainnet, enabled by @FlareNetworks. FXRP is live as collateral in @SentoraHQ's RLUSD vault on @Morpho — supply FXRP, borrow RLUSD, permissionlessly. A milestone for $XRP in institutional DeFi 🤝 app.morpho.org/ethereum/vari…

XRP as "Bitcoin for banks" does have a nice ring, with Flare as the yield layer. Also reminders of use cases for the Flare Data Connector in trade finance deliverables. It is a good time to be building. @FlareNetworks

FLR already has a regulated ETP through @ValourFunds — one of Europe's largest dedicated crypto ETP issuers. European investors can access FLR directly from a standard brokerage account. No wallet. No exchange. The TradFi distribution layer is live. valour.com/en/products/valou…

Big milestone for @FlareNetworks Users can now move their XRP directly, seamlessly, trustlessly, from an exchange like Binance into a tailor-made onchain financial ecosystem and access yield Proud of @j00sko and the team of engineers who made it happen (This is just the start!)
FAssets v1.3 is live on mainnet. Minting FXRP = one XRPL transaction. Reserve a destination tag once, and every mint after is just an XRP withdrawal. Works from any exchange — Binance, Kraken, OKX, Upbit, Bithumb, all of them. Billions of XRP are sitting on CEXs. @FlareNetworks is the only chain that reaches them in one step.

FAssets is more XRPL-aligned than people think People ask how the FAssets system actually uses XRPL. The honest answer is that the FAssets core flow is built out of native XRPL primitives — four of them — and that's the architecture. 1. Destination tags. Minting FXRP means sending tagged XRP to the core vault. Redemption sends tagged XRP back to wherever the user wants it — an exchange, a custodian, a wallet. It's the same tag primitive XRPL users already rely on every day. EVM ecosystems are now trying to reinvent this with "subaccounts." XRPL has had it from day one. 2. Native signer sets. The core vault itself uses XRPL's built-in signer-set mechanism. Signers are visible on any explorer, and the vault only ever signs two transaction types: payments to agents on redemption, and escrows. Two native operations, both auditable on-chain. 3. Escrow. Large balances in any signer-controlled account benefit from additional protocol-level constraints. So FAssets continuously locks vault XRP into XRPL-native time-locked escrows that release on a rolling schedule. The liquid balance is always sized well above what's needed to keep redemptions flowing smoothly — the rest sits outside the signing scope until expiry, time-locked by the XRPL protocol itself. Why escrow rather than a custom contract? Because escrow is battle-tested, every XRPL explorer can verify the parameters independently, and standard XRPL operations are simple to validate and easy to monitor. 4. Memo fields. XRPL payments can carry memo data, and FAssets uses that to encode what the user wants to happen on Flare after the mint lands — buy a token, deposit into a vault, hit a Smart Account instruction. One XRPL transaction, full sequence on Flare. No new transaction types, no new wallet UX, no forks. Use XRPL the way it's designed. FAssets v1.3 is live on mainnet.
From @Krakenfx, @Binance, @cryptocom, @OKX → Flare DeFi in one withdrawal. The new FAssets flow: set the tag once, then every XRP withdrawal arrives as FXRP, ready to deploy.
