Some news: After 2 years with @Obvious (previously @Flatfile), I’m heading out to build on my own. It’s been amazing working with this talented team. We redesigned 1 product, then completely built a new one. I’ve learned a ton and it’s been such a fun ride. Lots of people to thank. I’ve updated my portfolio with everything we built and the people who contributed along the way maxbos.ch Next up for me: I’m taking some time off and excited to go on some adventures with my daughter. Also have a lot of ideas I want to build. Always happy to chat and dms are open!

No one talks about this, but the secret to creative excellence is having 8 projects with concurrent deadlines and overlapping meetings and being in a constant state of panic

Everyone talks about 10x engineers but the real risk for most companies is not whether you can build it, it’s if you’re building the right thing. A designer that can distill why a user is adopting and then prototype the most clear version of that insight will save you millions.

One sign that determination matters more than talent: there are lots of talented people who never achieve anything, but not that many determined people who don't.

often think about if we'll see a future vibe shift to low-tech websites (ie energy use, not brutalist design) desktop homepage size examples: frame io ~35 mb linear ~2 mb low-tech mag ~300 kb solar.lowtechmagazine.com/ab…
