Being a dad is two thoughts, 9 minutes apart.
7:40am, watching them eat cereal: "These kids are perfect. How did something this good come from me?"
7:49am: "Why does NOBODY in this house listen? Who raised these animals? I'd like a word with their father."
I am their father.
A wedding is a party, a celebration. You can throw one helluva party for $20,000 even in 2026. Doubling the budget might make it look nicer on social media but that's about it.
A guy in our running club makes $110k. He’s been aggressively paying down $30,000 in student loan debt so he can enter marriage completely debt-free next spring.
Last month, he received an unexpected $25,000 retention bonus after taxes.
He told his fiancée: “I’m putting this directly into the loan balance. I will be 100% debt-free three months before we walk down the aisle.”
She got visibly upset:
“Our wedding budget is capped at $20k and we’re having to cut out the live band and the plated dinner. That $25k could upgrade our entire wedding day. You have ten years to pay off student loans, but our wedding is once in a lifetime. Using that money on old debt instead of our shared day is completely selfish.”
His argument: Entering a marriage with zero debt is the biggest gift he can give their future.
Her argument: Student debt is low-priority installment credit, and sacrificing their wedding experience for it is unromantic.
Who is right?
Foreign policy, like so much else political, has become unbelivably feminized. It's all about ad hominem attacks and character assassination rather than actual negotiation. "Ewww they're so gross, and MEAN! How can you even TALK to them?!" Grow the fuck up indeed.

I have a beautiful home for sale in SEMO, 15 minutes to two different rivers, 30 to the lake and not a stoplight near us for 45 miles. We are trying to downsize to a single level for my health and would love to sell to a family looking to raise their babies in Gods Country. ☺️

This potential World Series is so poetic, it’s almost a video game. Defeat the big bad dragon final boss, only to realize that the true endgame is that you must defeat yourself (the Rays). The true enemy is always the mirror. The brewers have to prove they are the class of MLB.

US "Here is Starlink, a powerful military technology. We'll give it to you for free and block Russia. Just please don't use it to strike Russian mainland targets. They have, you know, nuclear warheads and stuff, thanks".
Zelensky: Uses it to strike mainland targets.
US "Zel, see above. Also, btw, you may not have noticed, but we have a global oil/energy crisis atm, so can you please, you know, not use Starlink to hit Russian refineries and make things worse, esp with the midterms coming up. Ty".
Zelensky, "nah, I think I will, and especially because the midterms are coming up. Go fuck yourself Trump".
US, ok let's throttle their mainland access so they can't launch offensive strikes.
Zelensky: "Omg I can't understand why the US would possibly do this. The US seems to support the other side."
🇺🇦 Zelenskyy delivers a blunt message to the United States:
“Just give us Starlink back. If you refuse, Ukraine will survive. We will continue defending ourselves with or without it.
But why would you restrict a country fighting for its survival? Why make it harder for us to defend our people?
I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this decision. It is a mistake.”
Ukraine isn’t asking America to fight its war. It’s asking America not to stand in the way of its defense.
This is completely untrue. Property taxes pay for government schools and that's basically it. Look up your itemized tax bill and paste it into ChatGPT. Mine = 71% for schools, 10% fire, 5% ambulance, 2.5% road and bridge, 2.5% library 7% to City (sewer, water lines) 2% County.
I pay < $150/mo. property tax for "roads and services" which is dirt cheap to have police, fire, ambulance, library, city utility maintenance coverage. Most people pay substantially more in sales tax toward "roads and services". Property tax is mostly for overpriced gov. schools
In modern English dating culture, couples spend a lot of time laying on the couch or in bed, in separate living spaces, texting eachother (it's even called "talking") but actually showing up in person and laying in bed talking for 1 night every 2 weeks is super weird?

It always bothers me when people talk about attendance and only mention the average per game, because that doesn't account for ballpark capacity. For example, if you compared the Dodgers' 2026 average of 49,805 (highest in the league) with the Athletics' 9,867 (lowest) without mentioning that the Athletics are currently playing in a minor league ballpark that only seats 13,416, that would be misleading.
I put each team's capacity and average attendance in 2026 into a chart. The Blue Jays and Padres averaged over 100% attendance because of SRO options, while the Marlins and Royals averaged under 50% attendance. The league average was 72.50% in 2026, and the Athletics were at 73.55%.
Here is the full chart with teams ranked from highest attendance percentage to lowest:
This is what the "for heaven's sake just ARREST SOMEBODY!" crowd needs to realize. They want to force Trump to be a dictator so normies will look the other way when they try another coup. It's why Trump is trying to push reform thru the proper institutional channels so it sticks.
Let me break down what I'm seeing and hearing here from DR.
I don't know DR's source for these materials , but they appear completely legit and are profoundly disturbing.
These are leading members of the Democrat Party hatching up the following strategy:
1. After the midterms, use the DSA to incite and carry out violent civil unrest.
2. Make the violent civil unrest so bad that Trump must invoke the Insurrection Act.
3. Use the invocation of the Insurrection Act to create a national sense of illegitimacy whereby Democrat governors appear justified in taking the extreme action of refusing to acknowledge federal authority and push to form a new form of federal government via various means, including an Article V transformation of the Constitution.
Maybe there is more to this and it's not as bad as it seems, but right now this appears to be a conspiracy to create the next Fort Sumter.
This is a CIA-style color revolution in real time, on our own soil.
(Of course the legacy media is nowhere near this--it takes us Internet randos to get the word out.)
This is essentially what he did to Iran. Initially it was about 50/50 "US is the aggressor" vs. "Iran had it coming" and people argued for weeks. But as Iran broke agreement after agreement, while claiming they want the war to end, he's showing the world who they really are.
President Trump is signaling that he may be prepared to sign a peace agreement with Russia and dare Ukraine to reject it.
Before you scoff, consider this hypothetical scenario:
1. Trump announces a 28-point peace framework that includes hundreds of billions in reconstruction funding, territorial swaps, a demilitarized zone, arrangements for the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, and American-backed security guarantees. Essentially a sweetened Witkoff–Dmitriev plan.
2. Putin goes on television, announces that the “Special Military Operation” is over, accepts the agreement, and declares an end to offensive operations.
3. Trump announces that America considers the war over and formally certifies a cessation of hostilities to Congress (setting the stage for lifting sanctions on Russia). He warns that if Ukraine rejects the agreement and continues military operations, Washington will consider Ukraine as the aggressor, not the victim, and reconsider its military, intelligence, and diplomatic support accordingly.
4. Markets surge; oil dumps. A handful of European leaders, China, and other governments welcome the breakthrough and congratulate Trump on ending the war. Trump spends the final days of the American election campaign declaring that he accomplished what everyone said was impossible.
Is this the very scenario President Zelensky was concerned about on television today?

Unfortunately, it appears my prediction below is coming true. A fake peace deal between Trump and Putin that Trump believes will save his election and that Putin will break the day after that election, and all these gifts to Putin are the Kremlin milking it in exchange for agreeing.
Agreement between Trump and Putin, forcing Zelensky to abide while knowing its just for Nov 3rd.
Putin gets concrete, permanent gifts to aid his war machine while Ukraine gets more war and more US attacks.
Meanwhile US Congress is MIA.
