🚨🗣️ Toni Kroos on the recent media criticism surrounding Florian Wirtz's performances: "When I see the articles and hear the pundits talking about Florian Wirtz over the last few weeks, I honestly just have to shake my head. People have incredibly short memories in football, and the reaction to his recent performances has been completely disproportionate. To demand that a young player delivers a 10-out-of-10 masterclass every single time he steps onto the pitch is completely unrealistic. People are just looking at the raw statistics—goals and assists—and deciding he is out of form, but they are not actually analyzing the matches. He is constantly being double-marked, he is absorbing all the physical pressure from defenders, and he is still the one creating the vital spaces for his teammates. The expectations on his shoulders are suffocating purely because of the ridiculous, world-class standard he set for himself. I will be completely honest: criticizing a generational talent like Florian because of a brief quiet spell is a joke. Instead of trying to tear him down the second the team faces a little bit of friction, the media should be protecting him. Form naturally fluctuates, but pure class is permanent. When he clicks back into his absolute best, which he undoubtedly will, all of these critics will quietly delete their words and go right back to praising him."
