Can you imagine finding a significant discrepancy in your account and trying to sue the City? They can throw years of bureaucratic obstacles in front of you and basically “run out the clock” as they bankrupt you.

We need an National AI disaster recovery fund - run by the government & funded by Anthropic and OpenAI
A serious proposal.
1. We all know that AI is going to cause huge amounts of damage to society & the economy (it is when not if). It isn’t a question of AGI, the banks etc. will get hacked, etc. and there will be massive damages caused by the labs…
2. But there is a huge problem when it comes to who pays for the damages. It should be the people who cause them (Anthropic and OpenAI) and they should honestly be incentivized to minimize their practical risk (which they seem not to be)… it likely will end up being the American public via government bailout (either from risk shifting / labs getting away with it OR because it turns out they are insolvent / don’t have the money to pay)
3. The solution should be setup a HUGE AI risk disaster recovery fund NOW funded by the labs… have them put $1T or more each into the fund to guarantee the cash is there for recovery when disaster strikes in the future.
4. There is tons of precedent for this… it isn’t that different than banks needing to hold high cash reserves after the financial crisis, etc.
5. Where do they get the money for it now? Well, the street might provide it / write the insurance policies for them at some high interest rate… which they could lower for putting good safeguards in, etc. If not, then the government could help them support it - say that the labs owe them $200B in cash every year til the threat goes down… etc.
… The street might not like this because they are all aligned with / invested in these AI stories now BUT this is the role of the government / to keep Americans safe and make sure that the people don’t end up footing the bill for AI recklessness / mistakes…
This rationalizes an otherwise irrational situation… with Exxon spills a ton of gas, they have the balance sheet to be liable and clean it up – it isn’t clear that the Labs do, and their potential impact is 100x or 1000x an oil spill, so to operate they should put in place guarantees they can afford the liability they are creating / that they can pay

According to PitchBook, @CendanaCapital was ranked second for performance by VC fund of funds. Never heard of Peakview 🫢, but like Avis, we try harder 💪🏼
Seems like a perfect new feature for a news site like “Ground News”?
I'd love to see a product emerge that catches coordinated information campaigns in real time and flags them so the public knows what's motivating a story. This is how we crack money trails.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of seeing coordinated news stories from secret chat rooms orchestrating things for powerful people.
This is a pivotal time to create such a thing and would be good for humanity and skepticism in general.

If the Chinese government were sufficiently organized, they'd be funding opposition to data centers in the US. But the Chinese government is very organized. So they presumably already are.

Ro, “in your scenario, the founder could sell to pay a one time 5 percent tax or the state could sell it if he defaults on the loan”
Ro, this is the biggest fuck you in the history of entrepreneurship. Ever.
Creating jobs but don’t have cash. Fuck you
Can’t sell shares, we will sell it for you, to whoever. Fuck you.
Creating jobs. Paying great wages instead of taking cash out yourself. Fuck you
Reinvesting into your company and community. Fuck You.
Don’t you know that Jensen, and Lisa Su, and people who have vast amounts of liquidity already have no problem with it. Fuck You
There is a huge difference between someone with liquidity , running a huge public company, and someone who has dedicated every minute of who knows how many years, to building a company, to finally have a dream financing come true , only to be insulted by a politician. “We will sell your shares for you “

Mark, most of the 250 billionaires in California DO NOT have this liquidity issue.
They have public stock.
In your scenario, the founder could sell to pay a one time 5 percent tax or the state could sell it if he defaults on the loan.
Ask Jensen, Lisa Su, Sundar if they plan to leave California if this ballot initiative passes. Btw 85 percent of the nation's VC money came in Q1 2026 to California.
I love your passion. I respect your intellect and ability to get things done. Why not put this energy in figuring out how we bring capital and high paying jobs to every community in America? Why not put it towards figuring out the policy that expands childcare or healthcare (as you are working on reducing drug pricing)? Of all the things in America, aren't those more pressing issues than a one time 5 percent tax on 250 billionaires to pay for healthcare for poor kids and families in California?
Now you know why Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) launched their own in-house "New Media" division to bypass the MSM.
Reuters ran one sentence of the statement we provided them.
Here it is in full: 'The reporting runs well ahead of the facts. Any details about terms, structure, pricing, or timing of a future financing round are purely speculative. As a private company, we regularly evaluate opportunities to fund the growth of the business. Beyond that, we don't comment on rumors.'
Our IR team talks to investors every day. Routine dialogue is not a fundraising process.
