Duelbits co-founder offered a hacker $2M to return $5M
On October 17, the casino’s co-founder said some of the stolen funds had been frozen on third-party platforms and exchanges
His offer was simple: keep $2M out of the $7M stolen and return the remaining $5M to Duelbits’ hot wallet. In exchange, he promised to consider the matter closed
But there was a warning, too. If the money isn’t returned, he says he’ll track down the attacker and take “everything and more.”
Duelbits lost around $7M in a September 24 hack. This appears to be the second offer after the hacker reportedly ignored the first one on October 8
Will the hacker take the deal?
Reports are emerging of a possible hack involving Duelbits’ hot wallets.
Sharp outflows totaling around $4.2M have been spotted across Ethereum, BSC and Tron, with the funds moving to newly created addresses.
If confirmed, this could be a serious security incident.
The news gets more interesting every day.
