If sooner or later every product is going to look appealing and work flawlessly, the “how it looks” or the “how it works” might eventually boil down to an even more important decision: “how does using and experiencing it actually feel at a deep gut level?”. Does the golden era for highly sensitive people start now?
i firmly believe that the layer of abstraction we’ll be creating new software at is simply deciding how it looks and works and the code will never be seen by most

After watching this Derren Brown episode, it’s not surprising at all. What we design comes from what we absorb, like a sponge, and it all happens subconsciously 👀

perhaps AI will be less likely to kill us all if we don't pollute its training data with proclamations that AI will kill us all?

Dziś i jutro jest ostatni dzień aby przekazać komuś (lub sobie samemu) odsłuch The 5 zupełnie za darmo w Audioteka. Dlaczego to ważne? 3) Aktywuj dostęp, wpisując kod: THE-FIVE 4) Przejdź do audiobooka The 5 i zacznij słuchać. Z kodem uzyskasz 30-dniowy dostęp do Planu Smart 20h. Uwaga! Kod jest ważny tylko do 31 sierpnia.

Even a humorous post can spark an idea. This one made me think: one day I’d like to write a piece people can read with Hans Zimmer’s “Time” playing, and feel the coherence between words they read and the music they listen to.

This clip left a trace in my memory. One year ago, I was going to experience the Air Show for the first time ever in my life. Back then, I knew nothing about aviation (and still don't). I just love to watch masters doing their craft. I watched this video one year ago, and I still remember the chills it brought. Just thinking about the years of learning, training, renunciations, and mental rehearsal he had to go through. Because of the tragic crash that happened last year, the event was obviously cancelled. So I have never experienced the show. That's not important. The real loss here is the life of a human with passion, purpose, and family. R.I.P. Slab. You inspired a person who has no clue about aviation.

Criticism and stress exist at every level. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Just keep improving and enjoy the process.

The difference between delusion and vision is usually just the outcome. If it works, everyone calls you a genius.

VaaS – Vision as a Service 👀
Elon Musk: "In the next 6 to 12 months, we’ll be doing our first implants for vision, where even if somebody is completely blind, we can write directly to the visual cortex." "Long term, you would have very high resolution and be able to see multispectral wavelengths... you could see in infrared, ultraviolet, radar. It's like a superpower situation."

Image from Anthropic’s secret “Project Panama” room has just leaked:
Apparently it’s a lot more subtle that it seems. 🤯 Courts have already established that training models is “fair use” because the process is highly transformative. The actual legal trap lies in how you acquire the data. If a dataset contains “pirated” material, you are liable for the piracy. This is exactly why Anthropic had to set up a settlement fund for publishers. So, to legally train on a copyrighted book, you have to “buy” it at sticker price. But you also have to digitize it for the model. Simply scanning it creates a duplicate and risks copyright infringement. The fully authorized workaround is: “destructive scanning.” You destroy the physical book as you scan it, ensuring only a single copy exists at the end of the process. Anthropic did exactly this with “Project Panama.” They kept it entirely confidential because buying and physically shredding millions of books carries obvious terrible optics. Even with the law completely on their side, nobody wants to be associated with the imagery of burning libraries.

Funny how time estimates hit differently when you're delegating instead of delivering 😅
