I have a long-standing disrespect for the National Awards. It exists to reward politicians & friends, with the awarding of only exceptional persons in other fields to give it a veneer of legitimacy. Pick out the unexecptional politicians and party sycophants on this year's list. – at Jamaica

Every time I go against my instinct and take a call before midday it ruins my day.
And it’s compounded by the fact that I’m usually up working til 4AM. Now a usually me sleep time.
So me give you a portion of me sleep time and a this you do with it?!
I’m so mad at myself.

I’ve spent the last 4 days with an extremely wealthy person. It’s the most time that I’ve actually spent in a single period with someone with this level of success (former Chairman and CEO of a publicly-listed company).
Met the entire team; Sat in meetings; Did repeated meetings together; Dinner with him, his wife and my CIO; Lunch with his senior team; Drinks and shooting the breeze plus more.
A few things that I’ve noticed and that he also said to me directly:
1. Think even bigger than your wildest dreams and then go after that with the right partner
2. Avoid flashy things for as long as possible while you build
3. Be of value to the other person
4. Don’t be afraid to joke around with the people you want to do business with (An 82 y/o Canadian singing Buju’s “Driver, don’t stop at all” when I volunteered to drive them for a bit was quite surprising and he made sure to ask me how many 82 year olds would even know the song 😂🤣)
5. Don’t hide your culture and heritage, be proud of it
6. Former pro athlete so believes in strong work ethic, work hard play hard, stay in the game but don’t need to win them all
7. Only does Win-Win deals
8. Never be transactional with people - Become lifelong business connections rather than screwing someone over to win a single deal. The world is too small
9. There is nothing wrong with showing your cards and saying what problem you want solved then let the other person show theirs and explain how they can or cannot solve them
10. Treat everyone well - Call the server by their name, speak with them, make them smile/laugh, bring joy everywhere you go
It’s been a great learning lesson to travel with him and his team this week.
I look forward to continuing to pay everything forward and share as I learn from these wealthy people.

Being afraid to check your bank account is truly the adult version of being afraid to check your grades....

Guys. I can’t believe I’m saying this. I’m the last person to say this. Dont burn me at the stake but I think women need to stop consuming so much hate media about men. I think it’s rotting the brains. Not every walking person or man is the devil. I promise.

This dating conversation is 10/10.
Perspective is a hell of a thing. Neither the men nor the women are wrong.
