The post-Cold War order has been dying for some time. Trump will tear it down but what comes next could be better or worse. It’s is up to all of us to make it better. That’s what the book is about.

My honor to work with Bob Manning on the scenarios. Unfortunately much of the scenarios are somber reading. While the peace talks continue, we thought as likely a scenario would be a frozen conflict. Even with a ceasefire there’s a danger that it does not lead to a settlement.

Honored to work with UNICEF on this excellent report which warns of the many challenges facing children in the midst of the pandemic and economic downturn in developing countries.
Read @UNICEF's new report, Prospects for Children in 2022 which @AtlanticCouncil experts @PeterEngelke1, @matburrows, @amjadahmadVC, and NRSF @nicolegoldin helped to develop alongside their @PardeeCenterIFs colleagues. uni.cf/34KU0Gs

Congrats to USAID’s Steven Gale and Christopher Teed for concluding a MOU with SOIF’s Cat Tully to build “a better, fairer world for youth.” With the pandemic hitting them hard, we need more focus on youth. @SOIFutures @CatTullyFOH @USAID

My attempt to tilt the balance towards finding an agreement with Putin rather than drifting towards another Cold War with Ukraine in the middle of the conflict and paying a horrible price.
The costs for the United States and the world of a Russian invasion of Ukraine would be immense, warns @matburrows in @TheNatlInterest. Read his views on the avenues to pursue a potential agreement to stave off war. bit.ly/3J6ovFw

As one of the authors, I want to stress the opportunity for the US to bolster its soft power at the same time working in its own self interest by inoculating the almost half of the world’s population who are unvaccinated.

There's a lot of second and third effects from a war scenario, some hitting the US directly. Best if there is a real effort to find an agreement with Russia and Ukraine.
